8. List three of your favorite g/t tropes.

1. FEARPLAY omg I love fearplay so much. Intentional, accidental, imagined, all of it. Nothing gets my heart racing more than a tiny absolutely shitting themselves about what the giant is gonna do to them I mean seriously, looovveee. A big part of that is the fear of being eaten. There doesn't have to even be eating mentioned, but the scared looks at how much the giant can eat, cringing at the sight of their mouth, it makes me fluttery. And then there's giants in forests, I mean you've got the whole running on uneven terrain, unable to see what's following, so many places to hide but not one of them being good enough to be safe. Good shit 👌

2. Constant reminders of size difference that mean the pair's relationship isn't entirely cohesive. The whole 'I forget how tiny you are' while holding them, or 'Man, you really are big' when standing in their shadow. Then the gentle touch, almost as if they can't believe the other is real. Palm-to-palm kinda stuff hhfhfh

3. Giants having good senses of smell. A little one, probably doesn't deserve a spot bc it's so minor, but jfc imagine not being able to hide anything from your giant. First meeting, they sniff you out with those deep, whooshing breaths. They can smell fear. They can comfort you even when it's not them that caused the fear. Hide-and-seek is over so quick, even though they're huge. They know where you went that day, what you ate, who you were with. You hide a gift for them behind your back, and they know what it is but still act surprised because they love you. Plus they can tell if you're sick, and will get ready with a comfy spot even before it gets bad. (also, they say Fee Fi Fo Fum regularly and make silly rhymes for everything they can smell)

15. Favorite sizes for tinies and giants? Has your favorite always been the same?

Giants, about 150-200ft. Tinies, about 3-4". I've never been partial to other sizes honestly. Sometimes I do like to go for a bigger size diff if the mood calls for it. Not keen on mini-giants tbh.

Giants for sure! Absolutely adore giants in a human world, rather than tinies in a human world. Not that they're mutually exclusive.

Wrong person to ask, I have A Collection™

One that I've been looking for for Years and finally found is Man Mountain by Martin Waddell. A giant falls asleep and becomes part of the landscape and a town is built on him. And then he wakes up because a little girl explores his face. It was my 'find the one G/t book in the school library and stare at it' before I knew what G/t was.

For general feels, Hewitt Anderson's Great Big Life by Jerdine Nolen is really sweet. A human-sized boy is born to the descendants of beanstalk giants and he feels out of place, but in the end it doesn't matter because his parents love him just the same.

As for non-picture books, The Boy Giant by Michael Morpurgo is really good. I didn't expect it to be so massively anti-war but it really is. Ole Mickey knows how to make a book both endearing and disturbing.
