Toby listened and hummed a little in response. “It’s very interesting. We have lots of songs like that but, not all of them are about war.” he paused and laughed a little nervously. “Some of the old songs are well… vulgar. Some are nice though.” he said this lightly. Oh yes, he’d heard plenty of old earth songs pertaining to grinding your partner.
“I don’t think you’d want to hear them.” Toby laughed. He had a thought of perhaps what the Eliksni’s world was like before their Whirlwind. He’d doubted that Sylixis knew much though. “Maybe you should teach me some songs to sing.” he grinned up towards Sylixis eagerly.
Sylixis gave a quiet laugh when Toby suggested he wouldn't want to hear the human's old songs. Perhaps not, but he still spoke. "One day, when you teach me your language, I would like to hear some of the songs you do like." He said, and then nodded with the guardian's last comment. "I will teach you... if you teach me."
The eliksni's head tilted up, gazing at the sky that was now mostly dark. There were the smallest hints and wisps of an aurora, but it wasn't enough to really watch yet. Thinking, for a quiet moment, Sylixis tries to think of a song that wasn’t immediately bloody -- and after a moment, he remembered, almost mad at himself for forgetting.
"There is one song I can think of, one I loved when I was young... About the world that my kind left behind. Would you like to hear it?" Sylixis asked after he realized. While he knew Toby was more well-versed in their culture than most of his kind, Sylixis wasn't sure how much he knew of their Old Times.
