I put on my sunglasses, to hide my swollen eyes, over my tears. I cried all my makeup off. Went inside to have a milkshake. I don’t know why. I wanted something to drink as I figured out what I would do. I got a soda and a milkshake. Medium. The cashier looked at me and with a line around the corner of the counter he rushed away from the counter “Hold on “ he yelled to a coworker.

I filled my soda and went back and saw him looking all over. I go up and he gets close and says “I made it a large”.

That was seriously enough for me not to do it. His kindness. Someone went out of their way and as I went back in my car to cry I realized I could muster through a few other days. A few more weeks. Then I came down from that panicky high of anxiety, depression, and pain. I finished my shake. And it was enough time to let me feel better. I… I’m alive. I’ll make it through.

Try and be nice today. Tomorrow. Something as much as a smile. It helped so much.

Will the Netherlands ever get enough of the Dragons?

An arena filled with teenage girls, men and women who just got back from their nine-to-five job, and little kids with their parents, was ready for Imagine Dragons to perform a show they had never seen before. And so they did.

When the Las Vegas based band appeared on stage and kicked off with their debut hit Radioactive the crowd went wild. That didn’t change for a second throughout the rest of the show. Consisting of mostly sing-a-long hits such as Shots and Thunder, it was hard for anyone to not enjoy the incredibly energetic show which included a fair share of confetti.

Frontman Dan Reynolds connected the songs all together by talking about how the arena would be a safe place for everyone that night. “Simply share, feel, and celebrate love. Keep religion, politics, and hate out the door.” was his main message. Known for his passion to stand up for love, in all the shapes and forms it comes, Reynolds gave the set a slightly more serious touch by preaching about acceptance.

They may not have sold out the arena in Arnhem that night but that does not take away the fact that everyone walked out there happily, knowing they had been able to forget about everything else going on in their lives for just those two hours of music in one of its purest forms.
