         ‘  well  ,  it’s  really  not  as  bad  as  it  looks  -  ’   ophelia  leans  forward  conspiratorially  ,   voice  dropping  to  a  whisper  .    ‘  the  BLUE  part  is  the  hottest  part  of  the  flame  ,    right ?  so  the  trick  is  to  not  let  your  lips  anywhere  near  it  .  ’   it  would  go  down  a  lot  smoother  if  you  didn’t  burn  your  lips  .    ‘  and  you  know  how  you  can  swipe  your  finger  past  flame  without  burning  yourself ?  same  concept  .   bartender !  2  flaming  shots  ,   please  .   ’  

      ‘  so  i  guess  you  DON’T  want  to  hear  about  my  hangover-bigtest-needtobeawakethenextday  cure ?  ’   ophelia  asks  with  a  raise  of  her  brow  ,   as  if  everyone  knows  what  she’s  talking  about   (  they  don’t  )  ,   and  she’s  just  rambling  on  about  one  of  her  many  not  useful  talents  .    ‘  it  always  helps  me  get  up  in  the  morning  -  and  i  survive  on  it  despite  not  eating  breakfast  ,   surprisingly  .  ’  

       ‘  you  mean  you  don’t  gulp  down  caffeine  at  any  given  possible  chance ?  you  and  i  must  be  two  different  species  -  ’   ophelia  tells  the  other  jokingly  ,   biting  her  bottom  lip  as  she  does  so  .    ‘  that  was  a  super  round  about  way  of  me  saying  yes  ,   i  do  .   ---  though  i  should  probably  ask  what it  is  ,   huh ?  ’   eyes  narrow  at  the  other  playfully  .    ‘  you  tryna  poison  me ?  ’  

          mouth  opens  in  mock  shock  ,   she  tilts  her  head  to  the  side  .    ‘  here  and  there  ,   if  there’s  mixed  drinks  ,   and  i’ve  been  in  that  town ?  i’ve  most  certainly  made  my  name  known  .  ’   gives  an  easy  smile  to  the  other  ,   chuckling  a  bit  .   ‘  what  about  you  ,   want  me  to  mix  you  a  drink  ?  the  bartender  knows  me  well  enough  to  not  stop  me  .  ’  

        ‘  would  you  like  the  honest  answer  or  the  answer  that’ll  make  you  feel  better ?  ’   ophelia  could  give  both  ,   but  she  didn’t  want  to  break  their  heart  if  they  didn’t  want  it  ,   so  here  they  were  regardless  .    ‘  you  might  just  want  to  blame  the  game  ,   though  .   i  heard  that  sort  of  shit  gets  real  whack  real  fast  ,   so  you  may  just  want  to  find  ...  a  new  game ?  i’ve  got  batshit  crazy  on  my  switch  ,   i’ll  tell  you  that  much  .  ’  

         ‘  i’m  this  close  to  buying  one  of  those  modern  witch  hats  and  wearing  it  the  moment  i  catch  a  cool  breeze  ,   do  not  test  me !  ’   she  tells  her  cousin  ,   playful  smile  upon  her  lips  as  she  does  so  .    ‘  absolutely  .   and  there  has  to  be  actual  effort  .   we’ll  supply  the  alcohol  ,   they  supply  the  entertainment  .   speaking  of  -  how  do  you  feel  about  a  practical magic  moment ?  ’  

       ‘  well  i  am  the  one  that  invented  it  -  or  did  that  completely  slip  you ?  ’   she’ll  ask  ,   a  quipping  tone  to  her  voice  as  she  says  the  words  without  much  meaning  .   ophelia  had  more  to  deal  with  than  someone  not  believing  her  drinking  habits  .    ‘  i’m  local...ish ?  been  here  a  few  years  ,   guess  the  aliens  really  did  it  for  me  .  ’   a  slight  grimace  ,   it’s  probably  a  good  thing  that  nobody  here  really  knows  she  trained  with  the  fbi  ,   lord  knows  she  would  be  getting  tons  of  questions  about  alien  experiments  .    ‘  a  little  bit  of  here  ,   a  little  bit  of  there  .   born  in  china  ,   parents  died  young  ,   went  to  school  in  america  .   and  you  ,   have  i  unlocked  your  tragic  backstory  yet ?  ’  

        (  @jadenlapointe​ !  )    ‘  we’re  going  out  tonight  -  ’   is  what  she  greets  him  with  the  moment  he  answers  his  door  ,   not  bothering  to  look  up  from  her  phone  .   ‘  and  if  you  don’t  come  ,   i’m  gonna  make  a  big  mistake  ,   and  text  an  ex  or  something  -  and  trust  me :   you  don’t  want  to  see  the  aftermath  of  that  .  ’  

        ‘  good  ,   because  i  probably  would’ve  taken  that  as  a  personal  challenge  ,   and  god  knows  that  no  one  needs  that  on  a  thursday  evening  ,   bar  or  not  ,  ’   she  says  with  a  chuckle  ,   head  tilting  to  the  side  at  his  words  .   she’s  happy  to  take  things  as   challenges  ,   woman  always  wanting  to  prove  herself  for  some  ungodly  reason  ,   before  shaking  her  head  .     ‘  i  did  not  survive  college  back  in  CHINA  and  their  party  scene  to  not  know  how  to  mix  a  fair  amount  of  drinks  ,   and  make  some  on  my  own  during  parties  .   trust  me  ,   i  was  the  girl  to  go  to  .  ’  

       the  wine  aisle  is  more  than  likely  one  of  her  favorite  ones  ,   and  she’s  lucky  that  it’s  so  bare  of  people  ...  for  now  .   it  was  probably  a  sign  to  stock  up  when  no  one  was  around  to  judge  her  .   was  that  an  excuse ?  maybe  so !  but  she  would  take  what  she  could  get  .    ‘  like  lift  you  or  get  it  for  you ?  i  could  definitely  do  both  .  ’  

         (  @toxophilites !  )     ‘  not  to  be  dramatic  ,   but  i  want  to  go  HUGE  for  halloween  .   like  a  party  ,   you  know ?  ’   the  two  of  them  are  walking  through  a  spirit  halloween  ,   already  with  a  cart  full  of  spooky  gauze  ,   fake  potions  and  witches  ingredients  ,   spider  webs  ,   and  a  good  armful  of  pumpkins  .    ‘  i’m  thinking  spooky  chic  ,   what’s  your  thoughts ?  ’
