Either way, I think it's reasonable to believe that he had these tucked away in his room somewhere, and would sometimes just stare at them for extended periods of time. The expression on his face while he did this would seem very surly and unreadable, but internally he'd be thinking “gawd, her imposs’ble an’ uncatugeriz’ble form is AOUT 😳.”* And if anyone else in his family walked in on him he would very quickly hide them.

Neither him or the rest of The Whateley House are completely sure of him or his brother’s sex. They just made an educated guess, and Wilbur identifies as a boy anyways, so no problem.

Wilbur knows how to knit and cook from helping Lavinia out around the house. (I believe she canonically has albinism, therefore likely has bad vision.)

Lavinia is ‘Ma’ and Old Whateley is ‘grandfather,’ to both the boys.

Wilbur forages and fishes, though not in the traditional way. His unusual body makes him a super strong swimmer, so he can often catch some by swimming in local bodies of water.

Wilbur practically lived in the barn with his brother after Lavinia died. Literally only left for food for a long time.

I saw someone headcanon that he plays the banjo, and yes.

He is extremely heterosexual, but when you live the life he has, you are willing to accept anyone. He’s kind of accepted his lot in life as a lonely bachelor though.

He really wishes he could go to college and become a biologist, but his circumstances make that next to impossible.

I just want to complain about the lack of color, the dinosaur, the focus on relationships between women who help each other, the questionable decision to cut the genocide scene because the authors deemed it not interesting enough or relevant to current events, poor design, and poor characterization.

The designer Ang Chen did, several years ago, designs reinmagining the characters of American Gods into a dark, sci-fi, alien/fantasy style.

This is his design for Bilquis. Ang Chen went with the principle that all the gods have a “divine” form and a “human” form - and all Old Gods seems to have monstrous divine forms.

As a human, she is a “dominatrix sex worker”. Now, they stayed true by the book but give her a little update. I think the dominatrix idea works very well with how Bilquis has her clients “worship” her, and the parallels between her human design and divine design are good. But gosh… the whitewashing. Seriously, does this ring “Queen of Shebah” or even “Middle-East” to you? 

As a divine creature… I am honestly not a big fan of the design. Ang Chen explained that, since she is a goddess of lust and sexuality, and since she “eats” people with her vagina (he specifies that she devours the adulterers as a form of punishment for their “sin”, which is… wrong, since it is misinterpreting the novel), he wanted to put a great emphasis on it by making it this giant opening/mouth.
