to answer your questions...

1. I haven't made an official design for the parasite. But i do like to think they look similar to velvet worms but with spiny legs.

This isn't TOO fleshed out yet, but the parasite infect by jumping onto the victim and injecting a neurotoxin that causes the victim to no longer see it as a threat. To which, the parasite takes this opportunity to begin fusing itself into the victim. At this point, it'll then start releasing enzymes to make the victim mutate into whatever the parasite desires

You can, in fact, see the parasite assimilated into the host's flesh! But only at the first stage. Any other stages, it is completely assimilated and you won't be able to see it anymore.

2. At the moment, I don't have any voice claims :,) although i've been trying to search for ones for my cowboys for a while now.

3. The symptoms are very in your face. A lot of it centers around physical changes in a host, and these changes are very diverse since different parasites desire to suit in different niches. However, a symptom that is universal within all hosts is the fact that the hosts will exhibit animalistic behaviors and memory loss. Hosts will also experience increased hunger and intense craving for flesh (human or animal; doesn't matter). Although, the hunger will abate as the host goes through their stages; it's the worst at stage 1 though since they need that energy from other living creatures the most.

4. At the moment, the only name I could come up with is "Home Invasion" but it's only a placeholder name for the project since im not very satisfied with the name 😭

5. Cow punching is basically the job that cowpunchers do! From what I've gathered, cowpunchers would poke at cattle with long sticks to get them onto railroad carts (hence, the "punching"). However, the term is also synonymous with cowpunchers simply herding cattle around.

A bit of an unrelated yap, but with that being said, cowpunchers are just the actual names for cowboys that came from the southern states (ex. Texas). Anyone referred to as a "buckaroo" are just cowboys from the northern states.

This concept is less based on DBD, moreso based on this (SNIFFLES AND SOBS REALLY LOUDLY) abandoned game called Evolve that released back in 2015

Plot

A meteorite has crash landed onto Earth, somewhere in Texas. Surprisingly, the meteorite contained an alien lifeform—But, unfortunately, the alien does not have any good intentions. As a result, numerous unfortunate people have fallen victim to the parasites that the alien have released—causing many of these victims to mutate into monstrous forms.

Now, the infection has reached numerous parts of Texas and groups of cowpunchers have decided to take matters into their own hands to both defend their families and towns.

Story takes place around mid 1870s :P

Roles

Cowpunchers

An uninfected person whose goal is to kill the monster/killer in the round. They usually have weapons, but that's not always the case.

Plague Devils/Killer

An infected person who has transformed into a monster. Their goal is to kill and consume everyone to continue with its evolution.

Plague Devils will always have 2 stages to evolve into, with each stage making the monster more powerful and also letting them acquire one new attack (The base stage will always have two attacks)

basically... these guys are FBI agents that are trying to take down this gang called "The Coyotes" have been running this drug ring around San Diego. These drugs are incredibly high profile in the fact that not only are they addictive as FUCK but if the user overdoses (which is inevitable due to its potency) then the user transforms into a monster

Pim Pimling

Status: HEALTHY A frightened critter that's trying to survive day to day. He’s currently helping out Mr Boss to find a cure to the disease. ok time to get the infected ones!!! Each smiling friend has their own way of infecting. Despite their various methods, their end goal is to make the victim smile. Smiling during their acts is what infects you.

Charlie Dompler

Status: INFECTED (Patient Zero) Method of Infection: Hugging A huge and bulky infected critter that will do anything to hug anyone. Best not to encounter this critter; you will not out run him.

Allan Red

Status: INFECTED Method of Infection: Gift Giving (it's the act of gratitude that makes you smile!) A furry and lean critter who is quite generous towards anyone, but is a very sneaky one. Best not to take his gifts.

Glep

Status: INFECTED Method of Infection: Dancing & Spitting

A small and snuggly critter who spends his time lounging around. Best to be out of sight, and not trust any familiar silhouettes in the dark. Considered the most dangerous for having two methods instead of one. info dump
