Spending some time listening to mixes of new material and sitting with the weight of our times. Tears for the brokenhearted. Tears for the weary. Tears for the angry. Tears for the fearful. Tears and gentleness in a time when empathy and compassion are referred to as weakness. I’ll take empathy over brutality any day.

Hope everyone is taking care of themselves as the year wraps up. In the 90s, I started a tradition of making cassettes for friends at Christmas, then CDs and now streaming links for anyone who wants to listen to some music that guided me through the year. But what isn’t made up is the fact that we all eat, drink, laugh, and cry. I completed another lap around the sun. I was grateful to spend it making noise and working on some fun creative things with students in my community. I look forward to another feral year of sound, food, nature, community and carrying what I've learned over the previous 12 months into the next lap. You are powerful. You are vast. You are not politics. You are not left. You are not right. You are we. I am we. We are radiant beyond measure if we are not conned into believing otherwise. Grains of Us, a meditative and wintry series of modular synth pieces, is now available.

Surprise new EP out today. These modular synth pieces are inspired by my experience of Great Lakes winters. The tracks first appeared on the Phantom Circuit podcast/radio show in the winter of 2023. I thought it would be nice to have them available somewhere so they weren't lost to time.
