âOkay first though you have to promise me something â you cannot film it or take a picture. Nothing on social media. Pretty sure I have some bad dares already roaming around the internet and I donât need anything else while I may or may not be a little buzzed. Okay thatâs a lie, Iâm pretty drunk.â
âYou know, Iâll say that I promise. But I may break that almost immediately which may result in a video being taken. However, I can without a doubt promise you that I wonât post it to social media. I do have a brand to uphold. Now, letâs see it.â

    âYouâre okay..â The raven haired male exclaimed as his gaze came to land on that of his twin. Relief flooded his features as he approached her. He hadnât had much time amoungst ensuring everyoneâs safety in the firehouse to get in touch with her, nevertheless he knew she would be okay. If anyone was adaptable in times of high stress it was Sutton Williams. Joshua couldnât help but chuckle lightly at her concern, it was like looking back at a mirror image of himself. âIâm fine â no injuries, full bill of health? You okay? Where the hell were you?â
It was instinctual, arms wrapping around her brother the moment he turned, squeezing tight before she released her hold. No matter how well she knew Josh could take care of himself, along with others, she still fiercely worried about him. It was this town, after all. Offering up a tight smile, she gave him the once over, aiming to confirm what he had already told her. âWell, Iâm not sopping wet anymore, so Iâd say Iâm good. Hangmanâs Tavern. And no, being stuck in a bar wasnât ideal; I hardly got to drink.â It was easier to joke about it all now, once the storm had passed and everyone was seemingly safe once again.

Fingers gripped mercilessly at the bottle in his grasp, nails scratching against the glass as he stared blankly forward. The night sky loomed above him just outside the window, the moon hanging low over the trees but that wasnât what caught his attention. Instead, it was the stars twinkling just beyond, illuminating the night sky with the promise of magic. A promise he knew was made up of a falsehood because the only magic this town had to offer, was the sort that turned people into monsters. But a sudden noise drew the wolveâs attention away and he turned lazily towards the sound. âDo you mind?â His tone was coated in annoyance, his left hand now pressing palm flat against the wooden bar. âSome of us are tryinâ to have a half decent evening and youâre fuckinâ that up now.â Whoever this person was, they were in for quite the treat⌠âDo you know who I am?â
As of late, it seemed the whole town was on edge. As if they were all expecting another storm to come through, destroying what was left of their home. Sheâd done her best to help out, but even she had needed a break from the sight of destruction. Hence her coming to the bar, with intentions of letting the liquor sooth her need to leave. As her foot connected with one of the lone stools, clattering across the ground, she hadnât expected the response from the man before her. Dark eyes shot up, a single brow raising as he snapped at her. âHalf decent evening? Youâve been staring out the window for practically an hour. I can guarantee I didnât scare away the stars and moon.â The question took her by surprise, Sutton wondering if she should have known who he was. âOther than another snappy local, I have no idea who you are.â

âYouâre not drunk if you can lie on the floor without holding on. Come on, I can test it if you like?â
âOh, Iâm definitely going to need to see you test this out.â

âWhat? There I am, wondering how long itâll be before I have to literally dig sticks into my eardrums to stop the sound of everyone bitching before we all drown, and youâre out here, gettinâ sticky fingers for the good shit? You should have told me.â Lithe fingers reached out, hands flexing as she pouted, âCome on, gimme, I think Iâm still thawing out.âÂ
âWell this was the only good thing that came out of being stuck in a bar that was filling up with water.â She dangled the bottle before Cassie, lips curved into that playful smirk of hers. âOh, is this what you want? --- Iâm sure thisâll warm you right up.â She finally stepped forward, placing the bottle within the otherâs reach.
@cxsscndra
âSo --- do I even need to ask?â Sutton brandished the bottle of liquor for Cassie to see, something that she had taken from where sheâd been holed up. She may or may not have left some cash for it. But after the last few days, and confirming that those she cared about were safe, she needed some time to relax. And relaxing meant drinking until the problems of East End were not a constant worry on her mind.
@joshxwilliams
âJesus ---â It was the first word that slipped from her tongue at the sight of her brother, finally locating him after the storm had passed and everyone funneled out of the âsafeâ houses. Having been stuck for four days, her phone had lost battery within the first two, despite her attempting to preserve it, which left her having to find Josh the old fashioned way. âAre you alright? You werenât hurt, were you?â
@cxthmpscn
Despite the time that separated her last return to East End, Sutton still held a connection to the town, one that saw her assisting those in cleaning up the streets and surrounding areas. It was devastating, to say the least; what had happened to the town and those that lived there. The storm had certainly rattled her, even more so now after hearing what --- or who --- had caused it. As she set about clearing up an area, thoughts of what this new species could mean for the town, Sutton hadnât heard the approaching individual until they were just within her peripheral vision. âCaitlyn?â The name parted her tongue as she turned, taking in the sight of her brotherâs girlfriend --- ex-girlfriend, whatever they were now.

â âââ Listen,â Ellie piped up, rolling up the sleeves of her plaid flannel blouse. âWeâre not going to last in this little place much longer if we all just sit around doing nothing.â Tension tied her stomach in knots as her fear of drowning gripped her chest, but she refused to succumb to her feelings. âWill you grab the other end?â She asked the person closest to her as she grasped the end of one of the tavernâs tables. âWe can push it in front of the door for now. It wonât hold for long, but itâs better than nothing, right?â
There was simply far too much water, otherwise Sutton would have been working to divert the water. Sheâd spent her life traveling instead of focusing on her gift, and the water continuously rushing towards and into the tavern was far more than she could handle. But that didnât mean she was useless or unable to assist others. So when Ellie asked for help, Sutton was already moving to aid her in moving the table, lifting on one end. âI would hope so. But if the rain doesnât stop, these tables wonât stand a chance. We need to get to higher ground, or at least be higher than the rush of water.â

There were more than enough people within the tavern capable of being useful, despite the choice to stay here, he wasnât foolish enough to think itâd last. However, knowing that both pack alpahas were within the building with him didnât at all shirk his built in need to do something, the automatic instinct of those meant to lead, even if he no longer did.. Zach wasnât by any means scared or worried about the prospect of death; but drowning didnât seem like a good way to go, not today. Perhaps that alone, mottled with the uncertainty of where the last remaining members of his own pack were pulled him from his usual place in lingering shadows. âThat door isnât going to hold when the water rises.â The bar wouldnât hold against flood waters, no on with any wits about them could believe as much, even with the water already slowly trickling in through the sliver of space between the floor and rich mahogany.Â
Every part of her was on edge, from the worrying of those she was close with to the very itching in her being at the water just outside the doors. How easy it would have been to deflect it, to manipulate it into doing what she wanted ---- but the water had continued to come, proving to be a stronger force than she was used to. Now she was stuck by the very thing she had control over, worrying over where her brother was and how he was doing. At the voice, speaking thoughts that had seemingly been going through her head, Sutton eyed the door in question. If the door gave way, she would only be able to hold the water off for so long. âSo what do we do? Thereâs more than enough tables and chairs to create a barricade. But the door and windows?â In truth, it was a surprise that it all hadnât given way already. The bar was less than ideal during a storm, let alone a flood.

        âYou donât need a room there when you can just as well get drunk here. Iâm a great listener when it comes to crazy talk â just tell me your poison and Iâm your guy.â
âMy poison is alcohol in any shape or form, I donât discriminate. But for now, a Whiskey neat will do the job. Or at least, I hope so. A great listener to crazy talk, huh? Is there a certain level of crazy talk you tune into, or is it just a generalization?â

âSugar-y goodness or healthy goodness?â Lana murmured in question as she stood in the cereal isle of the grocery store, debating between two options. The gym-owner in her said she had a rep to upkeep, but the chocolate lover in her said who gave a fuck. She bit the bottom of her lip as she idly began to tap the side of the basket she was hold.Â
âIâm definitely not the best person to ask that. You already know my vote will always be for sugary goodness.â

âYou want anythinâ? This place has the damn best burritos on this side of the fuckinâ country. Just donât ask me whatâs in it â cause I sure as hell donât know.â
âI would never ruin the sanctity of the best burrito by asking whatâs in it. As long as they donât start getting crazy by adding weird things like Nutella or gummy bears, then Iâm all in.â

     âWhen we were ten sure, but I think itâs fair to say weâve grown up since then â well one of us has.â Joshua teased as he fell into step beside his twin. âSick of my apartment already?â He queried curiously. âDonât tell me youâre having second thoughts about sticking around.â
âOh wow, youâre so funny.â She laughed while playfully swatting his arm. âHave you smelled your apartment? Itâs like a gym locker room. You should invest in a candle, or twelve.â She wrinkled her nose as if she could smell it then. But no amount of teasing could stop the dread that overtook her at his statement. âNo, itâs not that. Iâm just ----- worried that East End isnât the right place for us anymore. Everything that happened....arenât you nervous for what could happen next?â

âWell, I can definitely help with the coffee, but may not be the best option for being jet-lagged since sleep will really on help that in the long run.â And truthfully, sheâd rather them get filled up on coffee and stay awake, then part just to sleep. âYeah, thatâs what I was told when I was at the hospital for Remi. I mean, even she walked into traffic and I canât bring myself to understand why sheâd do that. I know for a fact sheâs not⌠you know, suicidal, but canât really explain why else sheâd do it.â
âSleep is probably a good idea, but who am I kidding? Iâd much rather keep myself going on solely coffee. Maybe throw in a granola bar every so often.â Despite the tone of conversation to follow, Sutton teased lightly. Though she should have considered sleep, she feared what her mind may conquer up. A frown turned down the edges of her lips, teeth clipping the inside of the cheeks. âIâm not sure any of it really makes sense. Thereâs been so many sides of what happened, I canât even begin to understand what happened.â Of course, Sutton knew that magic had a play in the events of the day. But she couldnât outright state that, not when others wouldnât know what she meant. âIs she going to be alright? Iâm a little behind on checking on others.â
