thank you all for everything. i've had such a wonderful time in the rpc, and that's entirely thanks to all the amazing people that i've met over the years. you guys are truly some of the most creative people on earth and i feel blessed to have witnessed that. your love for your muses has genuinely changed the way i view so many characters, and it always makes me smile whenever i see them in the wild because they remind me of you. you guys are so incredibly special to me and i appreciate you all so very much.
unfortunately, i've decided that i'm not coming back to tumblr. as much as i love being here, it no longer fits into the life i'm building. i want to direct all of my energy into the fire service, and i'm determined to be the best fireman that i'm capable of being. i love it more than anything in the world and i'm going to keep chasing that. ❤️🔥

november , 1999 . tim signed an 11b contract with option 40. he committed to four years active duty and four years reserve, totaling at eight years of service. his test scores and opt 40 contract allowed him to enter the army as a private e-2.
tim planned on murdering his father after completing OSUT and assumed that he would be dead or in prison after doing so. however , frank gutterson died of a widow - maker heart attack during tim's third week of OSUT so he decided to dedicate himself to the cause and make something of his life.

that question echoes with the whiskey - tinged rambles of late night hauntings , far too familiar a phantom in the halls of his head. ( once a ranger , always a ranger. ) most days he says that with pride , but sometimes it crawls free from his chest like a question half - starved and nearly strangled. do his hands still reek of bolt oil and burned powder? slick with the putrid rot of blood under an unforgiving sun? every poet says WAR IS HELL , but hell has always been another name for home. some nights , he wonders if coming home looks like walking into a recruiters office and begging them to take him back. showing them the red rings under his nails and promising that he hasn't found a way to wash it free yet.

small switch: i moved tim to delta company since they're the only enabler company with a sniper platoon! the other men in his company are mortars, k9 handlers, and recon troops so those are the guys that he generally spends the most time around.
prior to 2007, snipers used to be in HHC, but for plotting purposes, i'm keeping tim in delta since that lends more easily to a sliding scale timeline (ie not putting all plots in 2004)
