Love and Deepspace: The Beginning of the End for the Gameâs Future?
I think people should be a bit more cautious with jumping to conclusions in the current Caleb discussion. I donât know Calebâs story that well since I donât really play it much. From what I can tell, thereâs still no clearly confirmed statement that Caleb and the MC are actual (biological) siblings. Yes, there are lines like âbrotherâ or even âby blood,â but at the same time we also officially know they were both taken in by Josephine, which points toward adoption, meaning they have grown up like siblings (possibly even across different reincarnations and stories).
Another example "Adam and Eve" arenât really siblings either, even if it might come across that way. Itâs more symbolic or a clone or at least presented in a way that can make it seem like it. Or take anime/manga stories, for example, where characters refer to their siblings or even childhood friends as brother and sister, calling each other âonii-chanâ or âonee-chan,â even though theyâre not actually related (not even have same parents), but make it seem that way even with deep bonds and big relationships etc. Itâs actually nothing new, it's typical with stories like this....
Their stories hasnât been fully explained yet. There are conflicting portrayals depending on the version and context. To me, that doesnât feel like a clear fact, but rather like intentional ambiguity. And thatâs both suspicious and questionable. Why even a game would do that and to their fans? I think itâs very likely the developers wrote it this way on purpose, to create tension, spark discussion, and yes, generate attention.
The problem is: this kind of provocation can quickly backfire. We can already see it happening. Fans are attacking each other, some people are leaving the game, and characters like Caleb could losing fans or they going to other LIs.
Thatâs exactly why it would make sense to wait until the story is clarified further in the future, or until the developers themselves make a clear statement about the characters, for example in interviews etc.
As long as we donât have confirmed biological parents or clear lore, everything else is interpretation. (Let me know if you find anything like that.) Personally, I also find the direction questionable and understand why many people feel uncomfortable cuz it is crazy but we shouldn't insult others for that, just wait until it's truly proven cuz i want to know their parents lol. It could be really misinformation or just provocation. We don't know yet....i just find the whole thing suspicious đ§
In the end, itâs simple: unclear story + heavy themes = chaos in the community. And thatâs more an issue of the writing than the players.
But well, If they mess this up the same way or even worse with a character like Sylus, who is extremely popular and one of the gameâs main driving forces, the damage could be much bigger than with other characters. That could be the end of the entire game Love and Deepspace. At that point, it wouldnât just be about community conflict anymore, but about a real loss of trust in the writing, character handling, and the game as a whole. Something like that can seriously harm a game in the long run. That would be it for Love and Deepspace and its success.đŹ I'm just saying, That's it!
