What is worth living for? I think that life itself is worth living for. If you’re not living the life that you want, you fight to achieve that life.

CELEBRATING DEAN: a weekly Dean-centric event.              (NOVEMBER 6th - ???) It’s no secret that many fans have been disappointed with the poor material Dean has been given since the end of s11. Because of that we decided it’d be a good idea to organize a (possibly) season-long event of appreciation for him!  The goal is to both avoid sinking into bitterness about what the show is not likely to correct anytime soon and to draw attention to various often overlooked aspects of his arc so far. Dean is incredibly complex and for better or worse there is plenty of canon to discuss and expand on, so hopefully fans will be able to channel their creativity and love for the character into this event.

A theme will be announced each week and the interpretation will be completely up to each participant. Whatever questions you have will be answered by our mods.

Contributions will vary and may include edits, art, vids, mixes, fic as well as meta/discussions, headcanons or even recs of existing fan content.

There are no strict rules about how much content someone feels like creating for each week/prompt. Basically, you can post whatever you feel like and as much of it as you feel like.

Discussions of a theme may also carry over into the next week(s) as shutting them down would be missing the point of this event.

For organization purposes it is necessary for everyone to put their thoughts or creations in the #celebratingdean tag.

The mods will do their best to reblog all of your contributions here.

It is also recommended to follow this blog since it’s the place where all announcements will be made.

Participants don’t have an obligation to contribute to every single week.

Suggestions of a future theme are more than encouraged.

The most important rule is to be respectful and keep things focused on Dean. Otherwise feel free to do things your own way! 

The first week begins Monday, November 6th and ends Sunday, November 12th. The theme is  v a m p i r i s m  . 

That includes but isn’t limited to vampire!Dean, the vampire-centric episodes (a special rewatch of 1x20, 2x03, 3x07, 6x05, 8x05, 9x19, 10x08 is recommended), the ways he relates (or doesn’t relate) to vampires, the dynamics he has with characters such as Gordon, Benny, Alex and the Alpha Vampire (or even the potential of those dynamics), parallels, AUs, the less literal things vampirism stands for and what those things reveal about Dean’s issues, etc.

I would like to once again emphasize that we encourage meta and discussions as much as we do edits.
