How much porn can I get away with at work?
Porn! Love it or hate it, it’s everywhere. I chose to love it. Reason being, it doesn’t answer back when I ask for it. Just torrents upon torrents of the filthy stuff available at my finger-tips. Not just mine but yours, your partner’s, mum, dad, boss, teacher, colleague, barista, hairdresser, therapist, local park ranger and your friendly neighbourhood dogging enthusiast (other stereotypes are available). So easy it is to open up a Google and type in my very heart’s desire and within 0.30 seconds my laptop is turned from a family friendly tool used by everybody in my household, to a cock stiffening sluice of heart pumplingly obscene and psychologically-nightmarish, flesh based horror designed to make me feel shitty about myself at the very second I chose to make myself climax into a lubricated receptacle of my choice. Marvellous stuff.
We all like thinking of tits and cocks, and what with the majority of people, forcing themselves to get up every morning to sit in a shitty Croydon office doing a shitty job for shitty people, it’s no wonder that our mind turns to sex every 6 seconds [citation needed, but having said that 6 seconds is a helluva short interval between thinking of each bit of sex even for the most avid of porn enthusiasts] and working in an office environment does not cater for such indulgences. Let’s consider the role porn has in the office… It’s doesn’t really, unless you work in a specifically porn based industry, doing the photocopying for particularly porny media. But even then, you wonder about the etiquette of taking a few minutes to turn your browser into an appropriate viewing platform to fulfil those urges when working in such environment. Work Porns (or Worns as I like to refer to them as) I have successfully got away with at work have been of a fairly tame nature. I currently own a t-shirt with a voluptuous cartoon character, though modestly dressed, riding a dolphin over the word ‘Sploosh’ (Defined by Urban Dictionary as ‘onomatopoeia representing sexual release’). This word is not widely known but the common folk in my office, and should offence occur a swift buttoning of my shirt will conceal such filth. Another such occasion: A rather crude drawing of an autoerotic asphyxi-wank following the untimely death of an ITV daytime personality. This was warmly received by supervisor at the time, but had suggested if I valued my career then I should probably destroy the offending document. I don’t and I didn’t. Thing is, I’m not the only person who has committed such acts as once a rather sour faced cow-woman had a calendar of an Afro-Caribbean male pin-ups at her desk. It’s not that it matters that the detail is Afro-Caribbean, but folks seem to notice that detail. Pin-ups are fine, but on this such instance June had a very ample size lunchbox concealed within his golden Speedos. Either that or it was very flattering light. This article did not appear challenged by the authoritative staff, and only encouraged other women to invest in the same calendar. June was a very long month. This made me consider how my manager would react if I had put up a rather tasteful Naked Ladies Farmers 2010 calendar at my desk. My only regret was that I didn’t, but if I had then surely an argument could be made for the overtly sexual nature of the Afro-Caribbeans trumps the naturistic context of my lovely Calendar Girls. Don’t google porn at work. That’s a no go! Even a fucking moron could tell you that from the outset. In my first job putting ‘jayandsilentbobssecretstash.com’ in the URL lead to some filthy ass site. Again, luckily this was not detected by the IT crowd and my job was safe. I dunno, all I’m saying is that there must be some acceptable level of porn to have in the workplace, but what with mobular telephones, nothing’s stopping you from locking yourself in a toilet cubicle and checking out some amateur porn on Tumblr for a cheeky handshake with the governor of love. Just whatever you do make sure you wash your hands and watch your back. Finish off with a pack of 20 Lambert and Butlers and you got yourself a perfect break from work. Top shelf rating: Asian Babes centre page spread. Susan Super-Yes
