Never trust a pain clinic that has signs stating the definition of compliance on the walls.
Wait…. what?
Yeah I went to the pain clinic once to see what options they had for me and they had posters everywhere that said:
Compliance, Com·pli·ance (Noun) -
The act or process of complying to a desire, demand, proposal, or regimen.
And they said that if you didn’t comply with their treatment plan - i.e. couldn’t show up for appointments, weren’t able to follow through with physical therapy, or disagreed with anything they said they wouldn’t help you and they’d send a formal letter to your primary doc stating that you refused to be compliant as a patient.

“This profession historically has viewed themselves as able-bodied in the extreme,” Iezzoni says.
Now, a growing movement of current and aspiring doctors with disabilities is starting to challenge that narrative, saying it is a disservice both to the medical profession and to patients.”

First of all, bullshit. There is literally zero reason most disabled people can’t work a full workday just like anyone else. Chronically ill people, perhaps. But disabled people are just people with a disability.
