i bet mephone has seen cobs stim on accident, and due to cobs programming him to be like him subconsciously mephone adopts it into his habits

so cobs catches him stimming and he gets upset because he’s been taught his whole life that his autistic traits made him “stupid” or “broken.” so he tells Mephone he’s broken. that he wasn’t supposed to do that. and since cobs is the only other person that Mephone knows he’s gonna take that to heart
