I appreciate the message of unity that Joost spreads but I feel that at times he drops the ball. This is one of them. Working with people and concepts that he claims not to agree with isn't something that's new unfortunately. I hope that eventually he looks within and realizes that it does not come off well. You can't have your cake and eat it too.

I hope this will be the end of it though and they don't continue to use it (or people that support it) in future projects. But who knows. If it does become a staple of future projects and gonna have to sadly bow out.

I’m sorry that my comment offended you. What I was trying to point out is that there is a power imbalance between a 31 year old, who was touring the world and a 20 year old who was a barely a micro celebrity on TikTok. Yes they are consenting adults, and maybe their relationship really works for them. I still feel like it’s predatory. You don’t have to read my essay on why this is, but I would like to write one anyway.

Brains maturing at 25-26 is not pseudosciences. During the age of 10-28 your brain under goes a process called synaptic pruning and then myelination. This cuts down any unnecessary synapses you form as a baby, and insulates the ones you do use in a fatty substance called myelin. This helps neuron’s fire faster. This helps you think faster and clearer. It’s is also not pseudoscience that your frontal lobe is not fully developed until roughly 26 for women and 28 for men. (Yes, there is a scientific difference between the brains of men and woman. This is not medical sexism as men have been shown to have weaker parts of their time management and emotional regulation systems which are key parts of the frontal lobe.) I agree that there are some misleading aspects to this theory, mainly because maturity of the brain is flexible. One person could fully mature at 18, and the other could be fully mature at 32. But roughly 25-26 is a median, and just used as a base line.
