Thank you so much for still loving my superbat fics. I'm so happy and touched that you enjoyed them and that they bring you comfort.
I haven't been writng much for the past 2 years. I did move on to a new fandom called gahan based on a TVN kdrama titled 'The Devil Judge', 4 years ago. But these past 2 years, there had been big changes in my life. You could say life threw me a totally unexpected curve ball and so there was major upheaval. The dust had finally settled recently but I had lost it - the momentum to write. And I have been struggling these past months to find back my motivation and my pace.
I do think of superbat sometimes. The fandom is like my long-lasting friend. I haven't forgotten it, just not that active anymore. Not in superbat nor in the gahan fandom.
I'm so grateful to you for reaching out to me with this message. Words can't express how meaningful it is and how your message is always in my thoughts. And how it makes me want to write some more and frustrated that I couldn't at the snail pace I am going.
Thank you so very much. And hopefully, one day, the superbat fic that I have been thinking about - I can get it written down.
happy superman day!! i don't have anything specifically for today but here's some kissing practice turned painting practice that i (predictably) got carried away with
what happens if Batman is out driving the Batmobile and he gets pulled over & asked for his license
possibilities:
- he just refuses & drives away bcos like what are they gonna do
- he gives them his actual license and hopes
- he gives them his actual license & then bribes them to keep their mouths shut
- he hands them a license that lists his name as 'The Batman' and has a picture of him in the cowl
He gives them his actual license, and they're like "Stop stealing Bruce Wayne's fucking driver's license, you weirdo! >:("
He asks for it back because he needs it to drive. They have to suffer through "I'm Bruce Wayne" in the I'm-Batman voice. (He is not getting his license back no matter what after saying "I'm Bruce Wayne" in the I'm-Batman voice.)
The next day cops are showing up at the mansion like "We regret to inform you that Batman stole your license again. Here." and give it back to him.
Bruce is like "You could at least pretend to find it plausible that I could be Batman. You don't have to be so mean about it. :("
They reassure him that they find it extremely plausible that he could be Batman, if he'll just sign for the return of his stolen property so that they can leave before he does another godawful "I'm Batman" impression that sounds more like their great-aunt Mindy who's been smoking two packs a day since The War, that would be great.
Back at the precinct, they file the 328th identity theft-related charge against Batman for pretending to be Bruce Wayne and call it a day.
When Commissioner Gordon finally keels over dead on the job of a massive stroke, it will be because of this. "You understand that, right? That what takes me out is actually going to be you and that fucking driver's license?"
Bruce is, however, very much driving the batmobile without insurance or registration because no one is going to cover a 1) rocket-propelled 2) car you built yourself 3) that you use exclusively to commit crimes, and there's no way that thing is street-legal.

I truly think that Bruce would protect his kids with his life from the media/paparazzi. Like when he first adopted Dick all articles surrounding him and his parents death vanished. Or how he played up his Brucie performance when Damian first went to a WE gala because heβs never had to deal with the press before. And I KNOW it killed him when Jasonβs death was announced but that was the one thing they couldnβt keep from the media.
One day, pre-identity reveal, Clark goes to a charity gala and asks a young Tim drake and Cassandra Cain about their opinions on the subject. A BUNCH of reporters are giving him looks but Clark canβt tell what for. Until Bruce Wayne walks up to with a stone cold expression. But Clark was perfectly polite and Tim and Cass tell Bruce they actually enjoyed expressing their opinions. The next day in the Planet their words werenβt twisted. And now whenever article comes out about the Waynes(still a rare occurrence but itβs something) itβs written by a certain Clark Kent.οΏΌ
