Adventures in Kalos||Sapphire & Steven Stone
A sense of relief befell her as Steven regained consciousness. It took all her strength to avoid injuring him further with a tight hug, so instead she beamed at him with tears filling her eyes. He was wounded, but it appeared to be treatable. Seconds away from excitedly mentioning that they were finally out of the desert, the realization of Excadrill’s disappearance loomed over her once again.
Sapphire momentarily choked up her concern for Steven, equally as distressed as her friend was about the missing Pokemon. Whipping her head around, she surveyed the premises. The whirling winds of sand veiled much of the scene before them. With a bitter taste in her mouth, she squinted, desperate to make out the Pokemon’s silhouette from within the never-ending sandstorm.
It wasn’t long before her eyes honed in on a peculiar sight from afar. At first, she attributed it to fatigue, but after blinking a few times and focusing on the spot for a moment more, she noticed it to be… something, skidding through the sands and headed straight in their direction.
Sapphire didn’t break from staring at whatever it was that was coming their way, but spoke rather urgently to the injured man beside her. ”W-what is that?” She asked anxiously, scrambling in place and pointing towards the incoming disturbance, not knowing how to react. Would they be forced to bolt, or fight?
Seeing that something had caught Sapphire's attention, Steven looked out towards the desert in the direction she was looking at. Though he could not make much out, as the whipping sands were interfering with his ability to make anything solid out in the distance. That and he was distracted by worry; unaware of excadrill's safety after the Gible attack.
Knowing his goofy little pokemon, Steven believed that it may have been searching for something in the sands and got separated from the group as the sand sharks started to attack aggron. It must be lost out there in the sands, searching for where they were.
Steven chocked back some tears as his worry started to manifest in guilt, thinking that if he had just kept excadrill in his pokeball that they would not have been separated like they were right now. Even feeling guilty for aggron, as it had been injured due to Steven's use of it to protect them from the sands. His reckless use of his pokemon had cause quite the mess, and his pokemon paid for his choices.
As a tear streamed down his cheek, he clenched his eyes and wiped his face clean. But when he opened his eyes again, he was able to make out what Sapphire was staring at. At first he thought it might have been excadrill, as whatever it was was jumping in and out of the sands in much the same way that his little pokemon did, but as this figure was getting closer it became apparent that it was much too large to have been his pokemon. In fact, it was rather huge; kicking up large amounts of sand in its wake towards them.
A panic struck through his body.
Turning towards Sapphire quickly he yelled out, "G- Garchomp!"

Librarian! 42
"Mass culture is a kind of training for life when things have gone wrong." - Theodor W. Adorno, Essays on Music
Steven looked the other man over, trying to assess his character by his demeanor. Though he could not gather much from the metrosexual and sickly appearance of his challenger. It had been ages since Steven had found himself in Hoenn again, and ages more since he had sat in the champion's room. It was not as though Steven detested it, as much as it felt unnatural for him for command such power. He had left the title of Champion to his friend Wallace, and had been an explorer for many years after.
Now, after all this time, he is faced with another challenger. A challenger who has come very far to battle against the Hoenn league, and probably to battle Wallace. Steven took an echoed step, the sound reverberating off the steel walls of his battleroom. He walked towards his opponent, feeling as though he had already won the match, and greeted them with a polite bow.
"I am Steven Stone, Champion of Hoenn, and Master of Steel-Type Pokemon", raising his head up, he locked eyes with the blond haired man, "Now hit me with everything you've learned in your journey. You're going to need it."

"The moments of idealized past were juxtaposed to the most barbaric, most irrational phenomena of the present in order to demythologize the present and the past's hold over it." - Theordore W. Adorno, Essays on Music
Steven could feel the blood moving in his veins as excitement and determination coursed through his body. His skin tingled as he and N moved deeper and deeper into the cave system N had asked him to help survey. There was so much possibility in a cave formation of this size, so much history that could be uncovered and displayed to the world. He was unfamiliar with the history of Unova, though each step that he was taking there felt as though he was stepping back in time to land long forgotten.
It was easy for Steven to lose himself in these kind of situations, so as he and N were reaching the summit of a small underground butte, he turned towards his companion and said, "Thank you so much for letting me explore this with you."
Though at the top, something caught Steven's eye. It appeared to be an old shrine. Faded and forgotten. There appeared to be something inside of it still, and he ran up to it, ushering N to follow him.
Panting a little, Steven peered in and saw that there was a round stone in the center of a collapsed stand. It was rather large, with its surface dirty from ages of sediment. Kneeling down to it, he brushed away the ages' dust and revealed the dark black stone underneath it.
Smiling in satisfaction, he stoop back up and turned to N to announce his discovery. Though before he could speak up, a bolt of blue light cracked from the stone behind him and sent Steven falling down to the ground.
'to whom it may concern;' || Steven & Jacqueline
She straightened as he came closer, her Pyroar letting a low growl. Standing, she let out a small yawn. It was probably just a trainer wanting a battle, but she really wasn’t in the mood. As the light shined on his face, he instantly looked familiar. An elite four member of another region? No more important. She listened to his introduction, name still sorta ringing a bell but the light just wasn’t coming on. She gave a half smile, hand on her belt that held her Pokemon.
"I’m Jacqueline, just here to mine some dark stones. They’re pretty normal to find here, though I found one that looked pretty odd."
It finally hit her.
Oh yeah, Steven Stone. The Champion. That was cool, she heard he knew a lot about fossils and such. So maybe he would be able to help her with it. She bent over and picked up the stone and held it out for him to examine.
"I have no use for it, if you want it you can have it."
Steven graciously took the stone and examined it. The surface of it was dark and jagged like most evolutionary rocks, and the coloration matched dark stones that he had encountered before, but this stone was substantially larger.
"Thank you very much", Steven said to Jacqueline, "I wasn't expecting to find anyone down here, let alone such an interesting rock sample."
As he put the stone into his bag, he noticed that the large pokemon that was accompanying Jacqueline was from the Kalos region. He had only been there to study for a short period of time and never really investigated much of Kalos' natural wildlife.
Turning back towards Jacqueline, Steven said, "That is a lovely pokemon you have there. I don't think I've ever seen one like that before."

Adventures in Kalos||Sapphire & Steven Stone
The rush of excitement and relief was short-lived; before the girl knew it, the pair were being surrounded by Gible, the tiny Pokemon diving in towards the Aggron who’d been acting as their shield. Steven recalled the Pokemon, and blurted out a command in hopes that Excadrill would come to their rescue.
Only, the Pokemon was no where to be found.
Steven let out a yelp as he was tackled by one of the Pokemon; immediately, a sense of dread overcame Sapphire, who all but froze in her position, as she watched Steven lay in the sand. Flygon, up above, seemed to notice the current struggle and swooped in to closer inspect the situation. Looking for a shot, Sapphire shouted toward her Pokemon, her voice cracking in the gales. “Dragon Pulse, now!”

Regaining consciousness, Steven could hear Sapphire yelling at him. Though his head hurt too much and he was having difficulty making out what it was that she was saying. Not wanting to concern her too much over his safety, he groggily opened his eyes to see where they were. Only remembering being attacked by the swarm of Gible though, it was a very different scene then he last recalled. He could see Flygon and Sapphire, and that they had made it to the metal structure he had spotted before they were ambushed by the sand sharks.
Steven tried to stand up.
He was a little sore from the pokemon attack, and it seemed as though one of them had bite into his shoulder.
"Ugh", he groaned as he looked back up towards Sapphire and cupped the wound. It did not appear to be bleeding too much, which was a luck break after the bad luck of being attacked by all the Gibles.
A panic came across Steven's face though, and he rapidly glanced around where they were.
"Whe-", he cleared his throat, "where is Excadrill?!"
Downtime || Wallace & Steven
Crossing his arms, Wallace clocked the other man looking him over, proceeding to roll his eyes rather dramatically, “Oh relax, Steven.” Steven, who was always a little too uptight for his own good. “Everyone, even the champion, needs a break here and there. Which, might I add, I haven’t had in months.” Steven really needn’t fret, Wallace knew good and well his responsibilities and stuck to them, which was the reason he really hadn’t had the chance to get out in so long. Nonetheless, Wallace had everything under control.
"—What are you going on about?" Wallace grinned, teasingly, pretending to pay no mind to what Steven was saying as he slipped back into his clothing. Whatever parasites there had been lurking the sands and waters, nothing kept him from the sea.
"Though, I do believe the real question here is what you’re doing here," Wallace eyed the other male standing before him, a certain amount of annoyance in his eyes. "You show up back in Hoenn unannounced, without a single word from you in months, and almost send me into cardiac arrest.” But Steven was a big boy, it wasn’t his obligation to have checked in with Wallace, his work in Kalos was of a great deal of importance, Wallace supposed. Though, it would have been nice to have heard from his friend. The familiar grin was back in no time, ”But it is good to see you.”
Steven smiled as his old friend put their clothes back on. It was not unknown to Steven about how isolated being the champion made you, so he understood how Wallace would have liked a break from the cold walls of Ever Grande.
Straightening his tie, Steven said, "It is nice to see you, too. Though I didn't expect to see you here in Lilycove."
"I was planning on surprising you in Ever Grande, but happened to find you here on the beach as I was making my way to the docks. You see, I was called back from Kalos by Lilycove's officials to help them asses the soil contamination issue they had been having."
Worryingly looking over Wallace, Steven continued, "Patrons of the beaches were experiencing large, full-bodied rashes while lounging in the sands. After a I took a sample from the beach though, that there was a large amount of endoparasites and their eggs present."
"I called a local parasitologist from Mossdeep and they are taking over for me. So before I head back to Kalos, I was going to surprise you... well I did, but not like this", Steven laughed again.

✗: Walks on the beach or in a forest?
"The beach. It reminds me of the open waters of back home in Hoenn."
ᄇ: Have you ever broken a bone?
"Sadly, my bones are not made of steel. At least my collar bone isn't anyway. I broke it on an excavation when I was young by reaching out to grab a stone and fell."

◐: Have you ever seen a meteor shower?
Steven smiles nostalgically and says, "There are rare meteor showers in Hoenn that bring Jirachi in with them that can be seen from Mossdeep. I've only seen one such phenomenon but it was beautiful.
ピ: Did you like Pokemon as a child?
"Actually, I never played much with pokemon when I was younger. I started training ones that I got out of fossils I dug up when my family would go on excavations. After proving to have some talent in it, my father gifted me a Beldum which I then used to achieve my former title as champion of hoenn."
