Sims 3 to 2 Sunset Valley Stories

Believe it or not, this is my first simblr or tumblr period. In 2025. Yeah, crazy. I wanted a way to talk about my Sims 2 adventures because I enjoy taking screenshots and take so many anyway that it's almost a shame if it's not archived in some way.

I have been playing this amazing recreation of Sunset Valley from TS3 in The Sims 2 and it's a nearly perfect recreation in every way. It really keeps the spirit of Sunset Valley alive and every single Sim and building is hand-crafted to perfectly resemble its Sims 3 counterpart. Except now, no rabbit holes!

Playing each of the families rotationally lets the stories come to life in a way that reminds me why TS2 is my favorite game. It was always kind of a shame to watch the other Sims be NPCs and live and die in TS3 according to their own whims. I want to be there for every storyline. So let's begin!

Erin meets the Critturs, Danny and Sarah.

Kennedy Family Round 1

(intro) Erin Kennedy is a long-term military woman who was recently transferred to town. Making friends has always been difficult for her, and she worried that things might be the same in this town. Will her fears come true?

I didn't know what to do with Erin to be honest. She's only about 9 days away from Elder when you start playing her and I didn't feel that was enough time to have a naturally occurring romance bloom, much like Fiona McIrish. So I decided to have her raise the Crittur's puppies and start being the local dog breeder in case anyone in town wants puppies.

Danny is a male, the brown dog, and Sarah is a female, the white dog. (Sorry, I'm not good at dog breeds.) Sarah starts out pregnant with three puppies when you move them into a lot with Sims. I want to write their bios here that they start out with in game for anyone who hasn't seen them.

(Sarah) Sarah never thought there was more to life than garbage cans and midnight howling until she met Danny. After living on the streets for so long, it will be nice to have a roof over their heads every night.

(Danny) A well seasoned traveler who has met dogs all over the world, Danny is now ready for the adventures of the domestic lifestyle.

They have absolutely terrible behavior, having learned all of the bad behaviors that dogs can learn, such as being filthy, being hostile to others, eating Sim food, peeing inside, and going on furniture. So Erin had her hands full and spent much of the first night with them scolding and praising.

It seems kind of mean but Danny had wanted to starve himself because they're trained to only eat Sim food. So I lured them with some spaghetti I put on the floor and kept scolding them every time they tried to eat from it. Eventually they learned to eat pet food. Again, it felt REALLY mean but that's the only way to get them to eat.

A few days in and Sarah finally gave birth to three puppies. I decided to follow the human name convention and have them share the same first letter as their parent. Meet Sarah, Darren, and Dennis. They're all brown so I'm hoping their genetics will be more interesting once they age up.

Erin spent so much time training the dogs that she didn't have much time to work on her skills for a promotion or her aspiration. She threw a party but it didn't amount to much even though it was a roof raiser. The guests spent most of the time playing with the dogs. Erin had two days off so her funds were running really low when I got a chance card that wiped out the rest of her money.

I thought she deserved some happiness in life too, so I made her bi and had her flirt with a cute Townie she brought home from work. (Sue Scotch.) Maybe I'll have her adopt a child when she's an Elder. Undecided.

I dressed Sandy as a popular mean girl archetype. I imagined her mom puts her in pageants or something.

Single Moms Household Round 1

(intro) Fiona McIrish is used to living alone with her teenage daughter, River. But when Fiona’s best friend needed a place to live with her own young daughter, Fiona readily invited the two to live in her home. Will Molly be the perfect housemate or Fiona’s biggest regret?

Sandy wasn't a toddler for long, with her child birthday happening soon after beginning this rotation. She had makeup on already which kind of weirded me out but I wanted to keep the same spirit so I went for fake eyelashes and lipgloss that feels sort of age-appropriate for a tween.

Sandy's LTW is to Woohoo 20 different sims so I had her get started with Hank Goddard. He didn't seem to mind at all.

Not much happened for a while as I let the two grown women get promotions in their careers. Molly ended up being level 7 in Culinary and Fiona ended up level 9 in the Intelligence career by the end.

With only 48 hours left to be a teen, River brought home Lawrence Lum and finally fulfilled her Want of having her First Kiss. He's quite a bit younger than her but they have good chemistry so we'll see if these sparks fly again later down the road.

The Wainwrights continue to be weirdos in my game and Blair opted to take the cuck chair one night as Molly was seducing the maid. 3 Sims woohooed now if you include Mystery Sim, Sandy's other parent.

Molly and Sandy took a trip to the grocery store to get some food and for Molly to find new Sims to romance. Back home, I opted to have her drink two swigs of the Elixir of Life because I wanted her to have another baby and that fertility was getting pretty low. I normally would leave it to chance, but there's a specific story I wanted to tell.

Despite being a Family Sim, Christopher Steel hasn't wanted to commit to anyone yet and has been playing the field.

(intro) Christopher Steel is lucky by nature. Things have always come easily for him, which is starting to get boring. Now that he’s in a brand new town with no friends or job, how will he fare?

Sims:

I had played much of Chris's story before I made this blog. He spent most of his days socializing and getting promotions. His LTW is to be reach the top of the Oceanography career and I managed to get him all the way up to level 6 in this first rotation alone.

Blair Wainwright spent a lot of time over his house and her father showed up too. One night, Fiona McIrish joined them and this happened autonomously thanks to ACR - Fiona's 'first' kiss. I later checked their relationship and they didn't even have that much, not enough for a crush even, so I don't know where that came from. More on the Wainwrights later.

Here's a preview of Agnes Crumplebottom's 'baddie' makeover. (That's what my friend called it.) I couldn't resist, she's probably my favorite Sim, so I wanted her to look cute but still keep her darker essence. I might change it up later. Anyway, she kept hitting on Christopher so there was only one thing to do and they did that thing autonomously. I checked ACR though and he still only had eyes for Blair.

I don't have any pictures sadly but I got Bebe into private school the first night. Here she is hanging out with Michael Bachelor at the Keatons'.

Hart Family Round 1

Sims:

Gus Hart: Father, Grilled Cheese aspiration, secondary Knowledge

Dorie Hart: Mother, Popularity aspiration, secondary Knowledge

Bebe Hart: only daughter, Fortune aspiration

Not a lot happened with the Harts, this rotation went pretty quickly. After 2 days, Bebe was ready to age up but she had the want to go to college so I sent her off. I was struggling with Gus and Dorie's sleep schedules so they slept through the event and only Michael was there to see her off. Hmm, how far away from YA is Michael? Cuz I kinda see them together.

Speaking of sleeping, Dorie and Gus kept passing out because of working the swing shift on the slacker career but they managed to sneak in a few promotions.

Dorie and Gus spent much of their time socializing and gaining skills. Gus decided to work on Cooking and Dorie focused on Charisma but I realized her one true hobby is arts & crafts so I had her paint for some Fun.

Dorie had a want for a baby but I didn't lock it in. I told myself I'd allow one try for baby and if it takes, then fine. But if not, then no baby. Well, it took, first try. My game hates me. So they're now expecting even though they have less than a week until they turn to Elders.

Dorie wanted a dog so I let them adopt Buffy. I had intended to make Buffy get a job to help with the low household income but I didn't realize Buffy is an elder and can't help out :\ She's been pretty well behaved though.

Jamie spent most of her time this rotation like this.

(intro) Jamie Jolina is as intelligent as she is beautiful. Can she prove to the world that the two traits can coexist?

Jolina Family Round 1

Sims:

Jamie Jolina, Adult, Knowledge Sim secondary Romance

Jamie lives alone and her LTW is to reach the top of the Medical career so I spent most of my time having her gain skills for promotions. I decided to give her a secondary of Romance since a lot of Romance Sims want her and I want her to have a kid out of wedlock lol.

Thornton stopped by, and I had played their household briefly to get Morgana very pregnant and Thornton took Jamie on a date. They public woohooed on the sofa. Later, when playing Jamie, Thornton walked by one night so I invited him in for more Woohoo. I actually had them try for baby because I'm chaotic but it didn't take. :(

A stray named Tucker walked by and I really wanted Jamie to have a pet to socialize with so I adopted him. He's a little chihuahua I guess. He is pretty ill-behaved so Jamie spent a lot of their initial time together scolding him for barking and chewing things. He ate Jamie's $300 rock on the front lawn and when I saw the price tag I opted not to replace it.

Just a random aside, Jamie met this absolute QUEEN at the grocery store when she was buying Tucker a collar. Her name is Queen Trump and she's a cashier and she's my new favorite Sim in town. I had Jamie introduce herself to her to maybe woohoo down the line.

Morgana walked by the next day and I had Jamie invite her in. They spent a few hours arguing because I'm messy. Morgana still doesn't know they're having an affair, but she has her suspicions about Jamie and Thornton's closeness.

Overall, not much happened during Jamie's rotation. I'm thinking of maybe moving in Zelda Mae to be her roommate soon since Jamie is lonely and has a spare room. She didn't flirt with any other Sims yet, she was too busy working on her career.

Since this post is so short, here's a bonus pic. My clean UI wouldn't let me delete Sims from the Sim bin and I've been pissed about the annoying ass Newsons so I moved them into a vacant lot, put down a murder shed, and let Gavin and Ginger starve to death while the children and toddlers were taken away by the social worker. Cue sad violin music.

The Bunch Family Round 1

(intro) Here’s the story: Two working parents juggle family, household chores, and their careers while their four children run wild. What is the right balance for this family of six to stay sane?

Things have been really chaotic at the Bunch household. Just trying to keep everyone fed, keep their Fun up, and get their homework done every night has been a bit overwhelming. I usually prefer smaller households for a reason.

But the teens have been pursuing romance with what little time they've had. I didn't bother deleting the Newsons and other bin Sims but I'm thinking of doing it, because Ginger immediately started hitting on Ethan and HE'S RESERVED FOR HOLLY ALTO BETCH.

Meanwhile Lisa has been seeing VJ Alvi when I played his household. I think they're meant to be together as well, but I'm not gonna bother with going steady right now because it's neither Sims' styles.

Whenever I leave them alone, the two youngest kids Arlo and Darlene are always getting into fights together. I want them to get along because they both like sports so I bought a soccer set for them to play together, but they still insist on being enemies.

Judy apparently friggin hates me, because she wanted another baby so she got herself pregnant. With twins. I had a feeling so I checked the pregnancy controller and yup, two babies. I'm gonna lose my mind. At least it'll be easy for her to fulfill that 6 grandkids LTW.

I actually had a bugged pregnancy that wasn't progressing, so I had to use the SimBlender to end the pregnancy then cheat it back. So she lost about a day's progress on the pregnancy so she won't give birth this rotation but that's okay. I accelerated the pregnancy a few hours but was scared of messing something up so I just figured it's part of her fertility journey or something.

I had an issue with Arlo's homework disappearing so he dropped down to a B in school but that's okay because his Teen birthday was right around the corner. I'm not gonna do anything too fancy with rolling for the teens' aspirations at the moment, I'm merely rolling a 6-sided die with Pleasure corresponding to 1 and Popularity corresponding to 6. Arlo rolled a 2 for Fortune and I think it suits him frankly and I'm glad to have a bit of variety in the house. I might just not bother rolling for Darlene when she ages up and make her a Family Sim to continue the bit of variety.

He always was a strange-looking kid, even in Sims 3, but I think he doesn't look too bad here. We'll see if he ages into his face or if it gets worse when he grows up.

Ethan threw the birthday party and invited all the teens in town and unfortunately everyone was too tired to entertain the guests, so when the police showed up to break up the party is was declared a dud. Arlo even fell asleep face-first in his birthday cake so he didn't really get a chance to meet anyone.

Lisa was doing great in school and hadn't gotten any one-on-one attention in a while, so I had her ask Davy Linnell on a date. He said no, lol. Her backup was Parker Langerak and they had a Dream Date that involved Parker's first kiss. I forgot he was even a Romance Sim too, so it worked out. The date almost ended early as a dud but I managed to save it at the last second on the timer.

Xander's love life blossomed. He asked Madison VanWatson on a date and made out with her, no woohoo again though. He must've been hot and bothered because he invited Emma Hatch over for a makeout/woohoo session afterward. The next day, he invited Tamara Donner over for a makeout/woohoo while simultaneously falling in love with her, his first love.

Xander felt a little empty and directionless since his dad Buster's passing though. He kept rolling Wants to gain skills so I decided to make him an interesting combination of Romance Sim and secondary Knowledge. He realized he wanted to make something of himself, something that his dad would be proud of. Buster won't be able to see it his spirit would know.

I'm playing each family rotationally by four-day seasons and I'm currently on the Clavell family so I figured I'd start there. Technically my first round will be 5 days since all families start on the last day of Summer and I will play until the first day of Winter. A lot of things happened in the first 24 hours in the Clavell household.

(intro) Xander Clavell is a party animal still living in his parents’ house. Buster is tired of Xander’s mooching and wants him out. Will Bessie have to choose between her son and her husband?

(pic 1) I had Xander introduce himself to Madison VanWatson and I left them alone on the porch for literally like 20 sim minutes then suddenly I got a cutscene of them having their first kiss. Thanks, ACR. I highkey see these two getting together in some way. Madison is a Fortune Sim but she has a lot of chemistry with the Romance Sims of the town like Xander.

(pic 2) I almost cried when I lost track of Bessie and Buster that night and found them out on the lawn watching the stars because I knew this would be Buster's last night with them.

(pic 3) Buster had been making good friends with Agnes Crumplebottom and I kind of imagine that she ended up hanging around the house a lot because she knew Buster was not long for this world. She has a sort of morbid fascination with death in a way that makes her not fearful of it. She wanted to give Buster a younger friend to confide his last moments in. He spent his last few hours talking to Agnes out on the porch. She's understandably devastated when Grim shows up.

(pic 4) Bessie was on the phone and immediately went into Aspiration failure when she hung up because she had a Fear of Buster dying. Poor thing had a mental breakdown at the thought of no longer having the love of her life around.

(pic 5) Xander did what he does best and immediately went upstairs to woohoo with Madison autonomously. He seemed to be taking the news okay.

(pic 6) Bessie needed to get out of aspiration failure so she rolled a Want to obtain a pet and I had her immediately adopt a cat with the insurance money from Buster's death.
