It's been four days, four days since me and Martin started working on my song. It has been wonderful so far, for most of the hours of the day, we match the beat of the original, to a newer rock version of the song. Then after that, we add vocals, and split parts. With the two of us working on it, plus some professional vocal instructors and an extra producer or two, the process has gone way faster than it normally takes me, and we are aiming to finish today.
"Okay, one more run through of that line Martin, then we can pick and choose what we want to add to the track." I said, giving him a thumbs up through the glass of the recording booth. He sent back a big smile and a thumbs up. The blond then went over the line again, and this time.. it was perfect, I knew it was the take, no need to go over it again. "That was the one Tin!!"
"Hell yeah, also Tin?" Martin smirked teasingly, I just rolled my eyes and waved him out of the recording booth. "That was the last line... right? Are we done recording?"
"I think so? we should probably start putting things together, and making sure that we can have time to record anything else we need to"
"Our last day with the studio is tomorrow..." Martin looked to the ground. "Man, this has been so fun, time flies"
"Yeah, that's why I was thinking that we hurry up and finish today, and get to hang out all day tomorrow, take a break and all that before we work on choreography and how we will film the MV" I proposed. The tall blond looked up to me quickly, sending a big grin, nodding enthusiastically.
"Hell yeah man, let's work hard then, 5 hours left in the day." And work hard we did, putting lines in and mashing them into the music, putting harmonies over each other to sound just how they needed, and re-recording some spots that needed to be tweaked. We finished the song with an hour to spare.
"So... it's done?" I asked, looking at the screen with wide eyes. Martin nodded beside me, with a quiet hum. We spent 4 whole days perfecting this, 4 days of taking the blueprint from my song, and tweaking it to match the vibe I wanted to go for.
"It sounds amazing," The tall boy says, standing up. "Wanna take a walk?"
"Sure" I stood up nodding, following him out the door. We walk side by side, taking in the night sky, the wind blowing through the trees causing me to shiver a bit. Martin notices, and slowly takes off his jacket, handing it to me. I look up at him, taking it with a smile, hoping the dark lighting would hide the small flush on my face. When we got to the park, it was empty, only the birds and bats there to keep us company.
"The first one to the slide wins!" I yell, dashing off, Martin is quick to follow with a "No you don't!" I reach the slide first, perks to getting a headstart, and make my way down it. It was a taller slide, so the blond took the opportunity to jump back down the play structure and meet me at the end of the slide. I didn't see him coming, so as I flew down the exit of the slide, I barreled into him, falling into his arms and landing on top of him.
"Martin? What the heck are you doing" I laugh, unable to control my laughter as he grabs my waist and sits us up, laughing along.
"I was trying to catch you but obviously that didn't quite go how I wanted it to." He looked down at me, still holding onto my waist, before he realized, and quickly let go.
"clearly" one last giggle escaped me. We both got up and went to continue to mess around.
We were out for about an hour before his manager called and said that it was time to take me home, so we started on our way back.
"Hey Martin..." I mumbled, as we walked, my eyes on the ground. "Thank you, for all of this... It has been so fun." It was silent for a moment, before I felt his hand touch mine, slowly intertwining them together. I quickly looked up, to see him already looking down at me. With the softest face ever, and a quiet voice, he said
"Me too"
