it’s breaking my fucking heart that so many ppl are coming back or reconnecting bc of an event like this like

regardless of anything else, so much of my late teens/early twenties were devoted to that band and I met so many people that I love so much and hold so incredibly dear to me to this day because of being in that fandom. countless memories were made at 1D shows and waiting for their albums to drop each fall and celebrating with everyone online. sending love to all of you, friends. life is short and fragile and weird. 🩷

I don’t even want to believe it… after all this time and after everything we’ve all been through together as a fandom…. The heartbreak is unfathomable.

this song also cuts so deep because i feel it really gives life to the concept of how nostalgia, although sometimes joyous, can also occasionally be quite painful. not wanting to think about certain ways your life has changed because you know you will never be able to get back to that point of the past. or re-live who you were in the past. there’s some things you just can’t get back and you have to move forward with that knowledge
