i feel like while the tracks themselves, for the most part, are fun and upbeat, there’s an ever-present undertone of sadness as illustrated by the lyrics. the album uses varying themes and symbolism (💋🪩), but at the crux of it all is the push-and-pull he has with his own fame and brand and the resulting loneliness and isolation. harry styles and Harry Styles™ are both fighting for recognition, and they have been for some time.
