because i love yâall, iâm sharing my familyâs recipe for apple tea (traditional fall/winter drink in west asia, turkey, and many areas of the balkans)
itâs like a more delicate version of apple cider and i basically live off of this stuff when the weather starts to cool!
Apple Tea (for two)
1 large apple or 2 small, shredded (you can use a cheese grater)
3 cups water
1-2 cinnamon sticks
2-3 pc clove (optional)
honey to taste
1 tsp of lemon juice (add at end)
green tea (optional! the lebanese version usually calls for green tea but i actually prefer it without. up to you!)
throw it all in a pot and let it simmer on a low temperature for an hour or so. while itâs simmering, it will also make your home smell delicious! (if you make it with green tea, add the tea at the end, about five minutes before taking it off the heat so the flavor doesnât become bitter from oversteeping). strain into your cups and enjoy hot.
end result:
Today I woke up with the urge to make cozy recipe cards, so please enjoy this.
Making this for the first time this season, I love this recipe!

happy imbloc đˇđŽđźđą
it was warmer than usual today, the sun was out, it was a little muddy from the melted snow, and the birds were singing! we'll probably see more cold in the coming months, but it really felt like spring
i wore green with flower and sun motifs, had a lot of creamy coffee, and i'm making a cabbage soup so i can have a good dinner before finishing some homework and starting to mass apply for jobs! i don't have the time to celebrate much more than that, but just having today to pay extra attention to the changing of the seasons was surprisingly joyful :)
This might be a bit of a hot take, but I feel like the concept of universal correspondences somewhat kills part of the beauty of magic.
I understand it's supposed to make magic and witchcraft more accessible (using the word accessible loosely here), but at the end of the day each component of a working is associated with something for a reason. It can be religious, regional, or cultural.
I 100% agree. I think about it like cooking - if the recipe calls for basil and you donât have any you can probably sub in some other aromatic green herb and be okay. The dish might taste a little different, but not substantially. What you canât do, and still expect the recipe to work out mostly the same, is sub in something that has almost no flavor, like flour, or something that tastes completely different, like cinnamon.
Saying clear quartz, or rosemary, or whatever is a universal substitute in terms of correspondences is like saying you could replace any ingredient in a recipe with flour, or in fact every ingredient, and have the recipe turn out the same.
That being said Iâm not against substitutes in spell work, but you have to swap like for like. If the spell calls for a cleansing ingredient and you donât have that particular ingredient you need to swap it out for something else with cleansing correspondences.

General info. This perennial is native to the eastern United States. Introduced elsewhere. They are also considered a pest by farmers. They get 4-10 ft tall(1-3 meters) and grow in disturbed areas and forest clearings. Birds enjoy them, mammals do not (usually). The taproot is the most toxic part of the plant. They're grown as ornamental plants, traditional medicine, food, and dye. YOUNG, Properly cooked Pokeweed is edible. They were once canned and sold. They were also used to treat skin diseases and rheumatism.
The "poke" in their name is a corruption of "puccoon, pocan, poughkone" Algonquin words for the plant.

My favorite simple wards to guard the home
Hanging rosemary above the doorstep, and/or above doors of the house for protection.
Sprinkling a line of dried red pepper on a windowsill, to counter a curse.
Placing a mix of dried & ground eggshells and black pepper in every corner of a room to keep out unwanted spirits.
Placing a decoration representing a witch in the kitchen, to keep away illness and to favor health.
Crafting an effigie (no matter how crude!) and make it into the guardian of your home by charging it with your intent of protection and placing it near the front door.
Crafting small witch ladders to hang around the house.

Animist Wishing Well Shrine
Create your own magical wishing well by creating a natural landscape with a water feature. Here I have a simple ceramic bowl filled with a little water, surrounded by living succulents. Craft it to be pleasing to the senses so that any Nature spirit would love to dwell there.Â
Your wishing well can be very simple, perhaps nothing more than a small bowl of water and a few acorns or stones you found in the park. Or it can be more elaborate and decorated.
Call your friends, allies, and beings of power who have agreed to work with you to dwell in the wishing well shrine. Or, make a deal with a new spirit to dwell in your wishing well altar and grant your wishes.
The coins you add to the fountain are payment to the spirit world for your wishes to be granted.
To make a wish, add a coin to the water and say your wish. Use the terminology and symbolism your spirit allies expect. Perhaps the more the coin is worth, the more work they will do for you.
You can also add other gifts such as jewelry (note the red bracelet above).
If you like making decorative scenes like me, why not a wishing well marker with tally marks for every wish that comes true.
When the fountain water needs to be changed or when the bowl becomes too full, move the gifts to a permanent jar. These things no longer belong to you; you hold on to them for the spirit world.
Remember not to be greedy. Spirits can only work so hard and so fast. Moderate your wishes depending on what your spirit allie(s) can accomplish.
⨠Manifestation Bowl â¨
Materials:
- Bowl
- Crystals/Stones/Minerals that go with your intention.
- Floating Candles (You can put as many as you want, you could add some numerology in there!)
- Water (You could add Moon Water or any other kind of water if you want, depending on your intention.)
Procedure:
1. Decide on your intention*. In this example the intention is prosperity.Â
2. Decide which crystals/stones/minerals to use. In this case citrine and clear quartz were used. Citrine to bring in abundance and prosperity, and clear quartz to amplify that intention.
3. Fill the bottom of the bowl with the crystals/stones/minerals. As you place the crystals, ask them (verbally or through visualization) Â to help you with your intention.
4. Put water in the bowl. As you pour the water, ask it to help your intention flow, unobstructed to completion.Â
5. Put the candles in and light them. As you light each candle, visualize your intention. In this case, you could visualize things that you related with abundance and prosperity coming to you (money, food, etc.).
And thatâs it! Now youâre using fire, water, and crystal energy towards your intention!Â
This is also good for those in the broom closet, since it looks very pretty and can pass as decoration!Â
*When doing any spell or ritual, I always suggest asking that whatever youâre wishing for be granted only if it is for your highest good. Example:Â âMay prosperity come my way, if it is for my highest good.â This is a personal choice, but I wanted to put it out there.

Jewelry Enchantment Spell
anonymous said:
is it possible to put good energy into a necklace? i want to buy my friend a necklace, im new to all this, im wondering how can i put good energies into it? im not sure what its called either hh
Yes this is absolutely possible. I do it all the time. Magic users generally call this enchanting.
I have a formula for enchanting a piece of jewelry that can be used for almost any intent. (I know it seems like a lot to do, but it really isnât that complicated or hard to perform; Iâm just really thorough and focus on details, and most of this is just prep.)
Jewelry Enchantment Spell
Preparation / Set-Up
Think about the kinds of energies or properties you want to enchant the jewelry with (happiness, peace, positivity, calming, etc.).
Create a sigil that matches your intent; an example would be âthis [jewelry] is charged with the potent energies of [intent],â but feel free to come up with something that suits you better. (For extra energy, draw the sigil in a color that matches your intent; âdefaultâ is black.)
[Color Correspondences]
[Color Magick]
[Magickal Color Correspondence]
Gather up four candles for the spell. Tealights work perfectly. (For extra energy, choose candles in a color that match your intent; âdefaultâ is white.)

Determine what crystals match your intent. Pick four of one crystal, or two of two different kinds of crystals. Personal correspondences are also important. If you do not have crystals, or do not wish to use them, feel free to leave them out.

[List of Stones and Crystals]
Pick at least three herbs that correlate to your intent, though you may use more if you wish; you will also need sea salt. Dried would be optimal, as you will be burying the piece of jewelry in them. Personal correspondences are also important.

If you feel it is necessary, cleanse your piece of jewelry (or yourself) before you begin.
Performing the Spell
Prep for spellwork in the way you normally do (meditate, cleanse your space, cast a circle, set up your altar / workspace, invoke any deities / spirits, light candles or incense, play mood-setting music, etc.).
Draw a circle on a piece of paper, large enough to fit a medium size bowl (a cereal bowl works fine). In the center of the drawn circle, draw your sigil. Place your bowl over the sigil. Place your candles at the top, bottom, left and right of the circle. If you wanted to use crystals, put one between each of the candles; if you used two different types of crystals, place the matching ones across from each other diagonally. Your set up should look something like this:
If you wish to, draw the squares connecting the candles to each other, and the crystals if you used them, though it isnât necessary.
Light your candles. If you used crystals, pick them up (individually or as a group), and charge them with your intent. Take as long as you feel is necessary.
Set the piece of jewelry in the bowl. Prepare your herbs to be added - you will want equal parts of each herb and the sea salt, enough to cover the jewelry completely when itâs in the bowl. As you hold each herb in your hand, before adding it to the bowl, state its purpose, and fill it with your intent.
Once all the herbs are in the bowl, use your dominant hand to stir the ingredients clockwise. Channel your energy and intent towards your desire into the herbs and the jewelry itself. Visualize what things might be like with more of that attribute present in your life.Â
Continue this for as long as you think is necessary, however long until you feel the jewelry is adequately charged. Remove the jewelry, and wipe any herbs or powder from it with a dry cloth. Blow out the candles, then dispose of the rest of the herbs. (You can also keep them for use in other spells relating to your intent.)
Recharge the jewelry once a month, either with the same method, or purely with your own energy.

Wheel of the Year: Transition Between Sabbaths
Yule to Imbolc: Rest
During the thick of winter when itâs too cold to do anything and always dark, itâs the perfect moment in the year to rest. The focus is on relaxing, taking extra time to sleep and care for the body especially to not get sick. Winter is also âspaâ season because the air is so dry and harsh itâs a good time to soak in hot baths and scrub away dead skin and moisturize with protective lotion. Do not try to make new plans, yet sit home, rest and reflect.
Imbolc to Ostara: Cleansing
When winter thaws itâs a great time to clean the home and prepare for spring. Personally, I also like to do a body cleanse since I tend to eat a lot of processed (yet delicious ;-;) foods all year round. This also makes up for all the heavy foods Iâve been eating since Summer (all the BBQs) to Winter comfort foods. As I clean the home and get rid of stuff that has accumulated over the year, I clean the body. Also the focus is on cleaning the home as well. Breathing in the same air, especially if its full of dust, is really unhealthy and itâs good as the days are getting a little warmer to open up the windows for a few minutes to allow in fresh air to circulate. This is also the time of year I throw out old furniture, accumulated things and rearrange furniture in the room as well.
Ostara to Beltane: Sowing
Spring is a great time to germinate sprouts along with other seeds and clean the backyard or garden to grow plants. If you like to compost itâs a time to start mixing in the vegetable/fruit/plant scraps with the soil. Spring is also a great time to sow bigger changes in life as well. Something about the warm new season brings an air of flirtatiousness and âsocialnessâ that makes it perfect for making new friends or finding a partner. (Probably because people can finally come out of hibernation). Itâs also a fantastic time to work on your image and portfolio and apply for long term jobs that begin in the summer or fall. Spring is the season for new beginnings and putting long term plans into action.
Beltane to Litha: Growing
A tradition I like to do on Beltane is repotting of plants and gardening. Repotting plants is a tradition I try to focus on every year because itâs very easy for house plants to die due to dead soil. Plus it makes the inside of the house super vibrant and lively to have fresh new soil in pots. From this point to summer solstice is the point of growth. Growth in the garden but also growth of personal goals. May and June feel like hectic months where there are so many events and opportunities to advance your work or change your social scene, that if I am not personally progressing, I focus all of my attention on my growth.
Litha to Lughnasadh: Thriving
Its the heat of summer! Itâs time to get out and feel the intense hot energy and use its power to focus on goals and networking! Where I am thereâs usually an exciting event every week where itâs an opportunity to make more connections and meet more friends but also since its warm and nature is so vibrant itâs time to take some days to relax and get away to enjoy the heat and life of nature. Go to the beach, go hiking, swim in a lake, sleep under the stars. Be active since the efforts will pay off.
Lugnnasadh to Mabon: Reaping
This is the time you earn what youâve sowed both literally and metaphorically. If you have a garden its the time it will start giving back. If you are an active goer of a farmers market you will notice how beautifully abundant the stands are. If in Spring youâve sent out tons of job applications, and in Summer got the job youâve wanted and worked hard, then by now you should start seeing some results. If there are no results being seen itâs a time for reflection and re-strategizing. There is a second chance in this time to start again before the cold and the holiday season bulldozes through.
Mabon to Samhain: Harvest and Gather
This is the time to gather and harvest. Usually family tends to gather now since itâs the holiday season. Thereâs not much other than gathering to be done since family and holidays are bombarding you from all sides. Also there is an abundance of food. This is great to store for the next transition which is
Samhain to Yule: Preparation
This is the moment to prepare for winter. My wardrobe completely changes here, I take up knitting projects that were abandoned last Imbolc, and I store food and herbs for the winter to use. Also making preserves from things in the garden or hand knitting clothes make great presents for the winter holidays. This is also a time to prepare the garden for hibernation. Take in potted plants, harvest the last of the herbs and food (that are not potted). Make sure plants you do not want to die have a place to chill in the house.
