Pretty Hair - Lesbian Ravioli Drabble
Link dislikes talking about her first quest. She vaguely mentions being on the run, vaguely mentions portal shenanigans, and vaguely talks about her victory.
Honestly, Ravio probably could have poked for more information. She’s used to finding all the right cues to get Link yapping properly. Unfortunately, she’s greatly distracted by the way the sun hits her girlfriend's hair.
A pretty blonde, shimmering a strawberry blonde when the sun hits it just right, sometimes Ravio swears it’s more pink than blonde, but she’s pretty sure that’s just from the red reflecting off Ravio’s counter.
Ravio stares, chin in her hand, as Link starts talking about a puzzle in a dungeon. Ravio’s eyes trail over her girlfriend, from moving lips to her eyes still focused on some old quest item in her hand that started this conversation to begin with. Ravio’s gaze travels to Link’s hyrulian ears, a tad shorter, pointed up rather than down like her own. Slowly, her eyes return to Link’s hair, always such a pretty shine to it.
“Why do you keep staring at my hair?” Link’s sudden question makes her eyes snap back to Link’s face, now staring at Ravio with nicely flushed cheeks. Ravio leans forward, closer to Link. Her free hand pushes a strand of hair away from Link’s hair. “Your hair looks just like sunshine in Hyrule,” Ravio says and watches Link's face go brighter. She stammers something incomprehensible before huffing at Ravio and leaving the shop in a hurry. Ravio giggles to herself. Her girlfriend is so cute.
It’s days after that interaction that Ravio finds out why Link has always been so vague about her first quest. Ravio stares at Link from the front door. Groceries clutched to Ravio’s chest as she stared at the scene she walked into.
Her courageous, strong, beautiful girlfriend is in tears. Huddled in a corner, trying to make herself small.
Ravio walks in and gently sets the groceries down before slowly crouching in front of her girlfriend. She can see her shoulders shaking, can see long furry pink ears flat on her head, her pink head, so very pink. Not a trace of blonde hair to be seen. Not even a trace of Hyrulian ears to be seen.
“I-It broke…” A muffled sob followed the broken voice. Ravio snaps out of her curious examination and focuses on her girlfriend’s distress. She slowly and gently places a hand over Link’s shaking hand.
“What broke, love?” Ravio asks in a soft whisper. Link takes desperate breaths. “Ring,” she manages to say. Ravio blinks at the statement and moves her hand to see Link’s fingers. Link had a few rings, but there was one she never took off, even during the quest they met on. It was a simple gold ring with a pink opal. An opal with a crack in it.
“We can see about getting it fixed, love,” Ravio says gently. Opal isn’t that expensive nor uncommon. She’s sure they can fix it quickly enough. Link sucks in a breath. “Doesn’t matter… you’ve already seen me like… like this.” Link says with obvious disdain. Ravio stares for a moment, trying to process things.
“Like this?” Ravio probes when Link doesn’t elaborate. “With this hair and the ears!!!” Link yells before shrinking into herself even more. Ravio blinks at the outburst. “What about them?”
Link shudders. “You like me blonde…” She mumbles. Ravio stares. “Your hair looks like the morning sky in Lorule. It’s beautiful. Just like you always are.” Ravio says, and Link looks up at her in shock. “Did the ring hide this?” Ravio asks, Link nods. “I’ll get it fixed for you if that’s what you want. But I do hope one day you’ll show me this beautiful view again.” Link's face goes pink, and Ravio can’t help but stare, so much pink. “Adorable,” Ravio mumbles out. Link freezes before grumbling something similar to a curse word in Lorule, maybe a Hyrule curse word she hadn’t heard yet, before dragging Ravio forward and crashing her lips into Ravio’s. Ravio is quick to lean into the kiss, hands finding their way into pink hair.
“You’re a doofus…” Link says, pulling away from the kiss. Ravio pouts at that but quickly makes a comeback. “You’re a rabbit.” She says, causing Link to shove her away a little with a huff. “Shut up.” Her girlfriend grumbles. Ravio pulls up her hood, tilting her head.
“We’re matching.”
Link pauses, staring at her in disbelief, before she snorts. “You’re such a dumb rabbit.” Ravio smiles as she stares at the small smile on Link’s face.
Yeah, her girlfriend is so cute.
