I am always happy when Seek is able to identify mushrooms. I feel like sometimes it takes forever to come up with a species. “Molesta” ins Spanish means to bother so this makes me think the mushroom is bothersome in some way.

I saw this cute little buddy yesterday. I believe it’s a garter snake!

For whatever reason today there was a ton of oil in the canal and some sort of tank truck up the bike trail doing something I couldn’t see. Maybe sucking the oil out of the water? This all makes me happy to have an electric motor.

I grew up close to the C&O Canal in DC and Maryland. I dream of it becoming a navigable waterway again. Can you imagine how fun it would be to travel from one end to the other and see all the canal boats? (Photo credit to my mom)

The canal water is like a mirror today. A huge fish darted away when I walked along the dock.
