Farewell
This is my final blog entry so I leave you with a simple message... It was... The Aristocrats!Â
Just kidding, Iâm unsure what I should write about, how about my gripes? Well buckle up there are a lot.
E-Learning is stupid and so is Zoom, Zoom is a company which has a fair portion of their servers in China, this means that the CCP has access to any and all zoom meetings because they donât have things like the constitution. Another Gripe I have with E-Learning is the attendance, some teachers donât have an attendance button so even if the work is due at 11:59pm at night if I donât submit the work before 3pm I wonât be marked present for class which is a load of barnacles. The constant emails from dean OâNeil are also extremely infuriating, instead of talking with the teachers about what their âattendanceâ is and coordinating with the entire staff or yâknow making the attendance due at midnight for some reason every teacher has their own way of taking attendance and each one is extremely convoluted. Why not just standardize the attendance taking method for streamlined use? Oh yea, because Marist doesnât or barely uses anything for the entirety of the staff. I have some teachers using canvas religiously while others are using educreations, some are using codehs, and some are doing everything via Email which in of itself is more difficult to âturn things inâ every teacher is using something difficult which makes this E-Learning fiasco a âHostile Work Environmentâ.Â
Apart from E-Learning itself the attendance is extremely difficult to follow which is why I suggested going to attendance is due at 12 midnight rule. The reason for this is really simple, students are now waking up later, going to bed in the morning, and having their entire schedules turned upside-down. On top of schedules being wack some teachers are assigning homework due in a day that would usually take a weekâs worth of class time to complete. Ah screw-it the rants done wish Marist would change but they obviously wonât.
