You may be a 10 and he’s a 2.  You’re in your prime, as he has aged less than gracefully.  You feel like a Victoria Secret’s Angel & the world is your runway, while he’s embarrassing to be seen in public with.  You think you’re God’s gift to this earth?  

You may feel you’re entitled to his money, gifts, wealth, etc., just don’t let him know it.

Even as your sugar daddy/sponsor/benefactor/client, he’s still human.  As we know, these men don’t want “to feel like an ATM.”  Regardless of how you may feel, try to lose the entitlement.  A man can be 100x more generous when he feels appreciated (Trust Me!).  

Thank him, praise him, show a little gratitude.

Give him a handwritten card.

Leave a ‘thank you’ post-it on the bathroom mirror for him to find in the morning.

Kiss a note card with a note written on it, and place it in his coat pocket or luggage to find (DO NOT do this if he’s married, you don’t want the Mrs. to find it)

Buy him a gift/book/wine/liquor that you think he’d enjoy.

Send him an e-card letting him know you’re thinking of him.

Call the restaurant ahead of time and ask for “Thank You” to be written on his dessert plate - when it comes out, let him know how much you appreciate his generosity and all that he does for you. You’ll get so many brownie points for this one if you do it right ;)

Little things. They don’t have to be extravagant or costly; just let the guy know that he’s appreciated (even if you don’t, at least let him believe that you appreciate his generosity).

a few helpful tips:

you can use http://exifdata.com/ to determine how long ago a photo was taken. exif data is also the main reason you want to turn geotagging options off ON ALL YOUR DEVICES. That info may pop up as well.

if a man mentions being a fan of a restaurant, look up the yelp page and see if anyone with his name or photo has left comments/tips/reviews on it.

facebook can also be very useful! if the POT says his name is Marcus and he lives in Chicago, you can type in phrases to aid your search, like “people named Marcus who live in Chicago”, or “people named Mark who went to UCLA and live in Ohio”.

But back to my post, typecasting, what is it? It’s a technique I learned in my Victimology class that criminals will use that help them select certain victims.

Starting out in sex work, sometimes you might be afraid to ask for more money, or you might be afraid to say no so you don’t lose that allowance he promised, whatever it is it’s scary starting out. But if a man says “You’re not money hungry like all the other girls right?” or says “You’re not a snob/drag/etc?” or “LOL, you’re too proud to talk to me huh?” now that might sound innocent but this is an example of typecasting!!! He’s trying to put you down so that you can prove him wrong. I repeat,

HE’S TRYING TO PUT YOU DOWN SO THAT YOU CAN PROVE HIM WRONG.

We associate words like money-hungry, snob, gold digger, and being too proud as being negative - it’s human nature to want to be liked so we have an urge to prove them wrong, to show them we’re not those negative words! DON’T DO THIS!

There’s nothing wrong with accepting a smaller amount because of such and such, but don’t accept a lower amount because you want to prove to him you’re not a [insert negative word]. I don’t care what he promises to give you, because anyone legit will give you money upfront, they will spoil you from the jump, they will treat you with respect, they will do what they say or promise. It’s not your job to prove your worthiness okay? If he says “I can offer 3k per month plus shopping/vacations/whatever” but typecasts you, babe he’s only trying to jip you. He’s only trying to see what he can get away with unless you stand by your words!
