The mother of all monsters is Echidna, the one who gives the needle for the scratch. (I’m not sure if that’s what you were getting at or not, it’s early and I haven’t cracked this Rockstar)

I didn’t think about the implications of Bec though! He doesn’t seem nearly clever or devious enough to nurture a civilization into being ruthless enough to snatch a win. Maybe if there was a previous kids’ session, they were too violent and rash and destroyed things meant to be protected?

Or maybe Grandpa just kept getting himself killed. DARN FLINTLOCKS.

Doc Scratch said The Sufferer made the sacrifice she’s about to make. Thus, the Sufferer does her role for the ancestors.

Aradia is probably going back in time to perform this role for her group of trolls, the trolls we know.

My assumption is, she’s going to a time where the trolls never play Sgrub, or return from playing it, or something.

That’s entirely possible, too. I was only going on a lack of God-tier wings and the fact that Hussie never lets anything be what it appears to be.

There is an explanation for this. An explanation that, if given, means you have failed. Completely. The last time you gave that explanation as an explanation, you broke down in tears. Not "Make things better" tears, nor "relief" tears. Tears trying to prevent you from speaking, trying to keep you from saying the words that meant you had failed.

Tears which wet the edges of your eyes right now. Of helplessness.

Because whatever happened, if somthing even happened, its so far gone that the result can't even be called damage. It just what is. A crimeless victim?

When it's mentioned as somthing that's not an explanation, as just a fact - trying to be helpful - "Oh, i never would have guessed". That's not failure. That's what you wanted the whole time. And if it never comes up again, fine. Great, even.

But when there is trouble, there is no compensation. Nothing noticed - if you're lucky, ramifications happen soon enough that remember the error. The context. Because then, perhaps, just perhaps, you can stop yourself from doing it again.

From acting like yourself.
