people were talking about su critical on twitter and saying shit like “if you spend all your time making fun of/blaming the crew for bad art theyre gonna see and youre gonna get blacklisted in the animation industry” and all i can think of is applying as a storyboard artist for a show in the future and having a questionnaire to fill out and theres a checkbox like “have you ever had or do you currently have a su critical blog”

They’ll hire ppl who draw child porn to work on their shows, but if you ever said Lapis Lasuli’s color scheme sucks you can fuck off mate.

It’s time for Stanly Entropy fans to be systematically oppressed.

its genuinely concerning to me that there are adults that are entering the animation industry/preparing to enter the industry that get incredibly aggressive the second that something they like is criticized

and also kind of related- there’s nothing wrong if your favorite show is subject to criticism. instead of pretending like issues are not present, look at why people are criticizing these shows and use this to create better media. i know this has been so many times but if some of you want to go into the animation industry you have to understand that there will always be people who will criticize your work. I don’t want to deal with another generation of cartoons with crews that can’t handle any type of criticism/maintain any type of professionalism.

I’m glad that Lamar and Rebecca apologized n all, but a) that doesn’t mean that black fans/crits were wrong for disliking it; b) no one is obligated to accept any and all apologies; c) apologizing doesn’t mean it’s excusable and people can still dislike it; d) it does more harm than good to hold content creators to a deity-like status where “they did no wrong” and “we should be thanking them instead of criticizing them”

rebecca and lamar outright stated that they realized concrete was a racial caricature in their apologies and people are still saying shit like “how is she black if shes an alien though?”

It’s annoying how whenever a fan of colour/ black Steven Universe fans say something in the show is racist all you annoying fucks say ‘if it was racist we wouldn’t have Garnet uwu ’ Garnet isn’t a get out of racism free card
