Even though in canon they’re probably all variants on the same species, since the sprites are identical except in colour, but I thought it would be fun to pick flowers for them to be, based on colour and meaning!

Green gets to be basil, which stands for good wishes as well as having culinary use

Orange is nasturtiums, which mean conquest

Aqua was chosen for me— occasionally you can get the flavour text “smells like hydrangea” in her battle, while everyone else just gets “smells like flowers”! Oddly enough, hydrangeas mean apology in Japanese culture and excess or vanity in English, neither of which suit her that well, but… NEVER MIND SHE’S BACK TO HYACINTH WHICH WAS MY ORIGINAL PLAN. Flowery is buttercups even though he’s presumably Golden Flower because… well, in Undertale, the Golden Flowers are explicitly edible (Asgore drinks golden flower tea!), and Flowery’s seeds are covered in warning labels, and buttercups are very poisonous both in UT and IRL. The symbolism between golden flowers and buttercups are kinda blurred around the edges anyway…

Seth gets violets for faithfulness, which felt about as close to perseverance as I was gonna get
