One of my favorite storylines (troupe?) in clone wars fanfic is Echo doing something the batch doesn’t understand and they call Rex because he’s the Echo Whisperer ™ and they need help.

I feel like Echo would be the type of person where you can tell when he’s mad because he won’t talk to you, and every time it makes everyone uncomfortable.
Especially Fives because he grew up with this person who got their name because he wouldn’t shut up. Now he’s completely silent, and doesn’t even scold Fives for not following orders?
It’s weird and he doesn’t like it, especially when Echo is ignoring him. Thankfully they don’t last long though because Fives always makes Echo crack in the end either from laughing from being the annoying sibling he is, or talking with him when it’s serious so they can resolve it.
Fives and Echo: *have an entire conversation with just facial expressions*
Rex, resident Domino dadbrother expert and sick of their shenanigans: Absolutely not
Fives: Aw, man
Echo: :( we didn't even say anything!

when Echo feels anxious or like he is about to break apart from shaking so bad he calls Rex because this man doesn’t even need Echo to say anything to know that something is wrong. he hears the unsteady breaths or a poorly suppressed whine and just knows that Echo is struggling. and very calmly yet firmly talks until Echo’s breath starts to even out. because he can tell a lot about Echo from the way his voice sounds and even more when he can’t speak at all.
can you imagine my disappointment when i realized he wasn't actually wearing a crop top. devastating.

The fact that Echo is known as The Responsible One, Killjoy, Tired Parent of The Bad Batch and yet without fail, every time there is absolute fucking chaos in the vicinity the first reaction of the band of madcap frat boys he’s attached himself to is ‘Did Echo do that?’
Echo was with the 501st - Anakin ‘How Many Ways Can This Go Sideways’ Skywalker’s troop, because he impressed Captain Rex and Commander Cody, who are used to riding herd on the craziest Jedi the Order can provide, because the day they met involved blowing up the outpost they were assigned to.
Echo was Rex’s favorite. Echo helped Rex develop plans so good that the enemy had to capture him and drill them out of his head in order to beat.
Echo is chaos incarnate, he’s just tactical about it.
