I'm B and I like to write about Star Wars. Specifically, Domino Squad, with some Kix (especially in the future) and Wolfpack thrown in there. Here is my AO3. You'll probably catch onto my specific favorites outside of that quickly lol
Please DNI (well, mostly, please don't tag my posts with the following) if you ship clon-cest, Master/padawan, adult/minor, or stuff of the like. So stuff like Rexs-ka or Mauls-ka are also no-goes. Also please don't send me ns/fw stuff in general. That's not my thing.
My tags:
b talks — anything original from me
b writes — anything I've written (from drabbles to multichapters)
fic wips — sneak peaks of my work in progress pieces
ohmh — my sequel-era Kix series, sneak peaks included
wkatmam — my modern Wolfpack au
nv — my domino twins platonic cuddles series (finished)
marching au — my clone wars meets drum corps au!
dadbrother and sonbrothers — anything about the Rex + Domino Twins dynamic
textpost edits — pretty straightforward, me sticking textposts on screenshots of everyone

first impressions ♡ I love seeing how young and naïve Leia Organa is here. She genuinely believes that if she stands before the Emperor, she can confront him directly. Does she even realize how deeply evil he truly is?
I also love that she can sense the darkness in him. I fully believe she was tapping into the Force in that moment. Sure, Emperor Palpatine was already a creepy old man on the surface, but I think she could feel the Dark Side radiating from him too.
And honestly, I love how perfectly they portrayed Palpatine overall — like a disturbingly believable corrupt politician
can we talk about Leia and Bail Organa for a second because they are genuinely one of the BEST examples of found family in Star Wars.
that is HIS daughter in every way that matters.
Bail raises Leia with so much love and with the values he genuinely believes in. compassion. justice. diplomacy. standing up to tyranny. protecting democracy even when it seems impossible. hope.
and when we meet Leia later, she's basically carrying Bail's legacy on her back. you can see his influence in everything she does. the way she leads. the way she refuses to back down. the way she can walk into a room full of people who underestimate her and immediately take charge. the way she never stops believing that people are worth fighting for even when the galaxy is falling apart around her. that's Bail.
and what makes it even more emotional is the connection to Padmé Amidala. Bail and Padmé were close allies and freinds during the fall of the Republic. they were two of the people desperately trying to stop Palpatine from destroying democracy
so after Padmé dies, Bail taking Leia in feels like more than adoption.it feels like him looking at his friend's daughter and saying, "I'll protect her." "I'll make sure she knows what her mother stood for." "I'll make sure she grows up believing in the future we were fighting for." and he succeeds.
because Leia grows up into someone who embodies everything both of them believed in. and I think that's why Leia becomes who she is. not because of her bloodline. but because she was loved. because she was raised by a man who chose her every single day and never treated her as anything less than his daughter. 😭❤️

”how do i get people interested in my ocs” TAG THEM. BY NAME. HAVE AN ORIGINAL CHARACTER TAG I CAN LOOK THROUGH. PLEADE. SOURCE TAG AND THEN INDIVIDUAL CHARACTER TAG. DO YOU KNOW HOW MANY TIMES I HAVE CLICKED THROUGH THREE DIFFERENT VARIATIONS OF “#OC” ON SOMEONES BLOG TO GET THE FULL EXTENT OF THEIR ORIGINAL CHARACTER ART I REALLY WANT TO SEE. TOO MANY. THREE HUNDRED POSTS HIDDEN BECAUSE I WAS GOING THROUGH THE “ORIGINAL CHARACTER” TAG AND NOT THE “OCS” TAG ON THEIR BLOG. YOU MUST DO THIS FOR ME.
as someone who got 2 concussions this year and inhaled toxic substances at the workplace i can confidently inform you all that all characters in the star wars prequels are absolved of stupidity. they're all dumb as a box of rocks but its not their fault that no one made them wear helmets in wartime. the introduction of SPOSHA (space OSHA) would reduce incidences of darth vader creation by at least one i just know it
"anakin shouldn't have done that" he was huffing space gasoline at age 7 literally what did you expect. "obi-wan shouldn't have done that" he literally goes through a window face first in episode 2. "padme shouldn't have done that" she's had a career since she was 10
OVER 20? i thought that shit was at 14 god's honest truth. which is bad enough but WORSE? holy shit. you could fucking fly a jet plane through the holes in his brain, legend has it if you get a brain scan on that man the scarring on his frontal lobe spells out 'HELP.' fucking 20+? that live fast die young ass motherfucker. born with a job, broke both legs by 6, death NASCAR career by 9, logged his first kill at 11, married at 19, 20+ workplace electrocutions by 22. installs his first authoritarian government by 22. overachieving but in all the wrong fields only. i mean 20+? that man hasn't walked in a straight line in years. holy fuck man. 20+? yeeeeeeeeeeesh. holy shit. fuck
i've crunched the numbers and analyzed the situations man and i tell you i ran this in the most favorable of conditions. assuming this boy turned 19 literally 5 minutes before AOTC picks up and Space Years can be substituted by our years, and by '20+' we mean 21, this dude gets electrocuted every 7.4 weeks. dude...... like bro. like man.

A quick Mace study! Not the most interesting portrait but I’m having fun with color. Mace Windu is one of my favorite characters- Shatterpoint needs to be more popular!
Here is the list of what I've figured out :) Some of these will just be the inspired music. Some will be marching arrangements that would probably be harder (not high school level lol) + w/o woodwinds. Some are very close to what I'll have listed.
Any songs that are from the Star Wars movies themselves are either known by different names or associations in this AU. For the sake of my sanity lol
Also disclaimer that these are not necessarily in the order the music would be arranged into in-universe
Enjoy!
Tatooine Sand Torrents — The Tragedy of Darth Plagueis the Wise
As mentioned in the fic, brought about by Anakin listening to Palps too much lol. Their show incorporates a freak ton of minor songs that have been excerpted throughout the entire thing. S/O to whoever their arranger is for that lol
Since there's so many excerpted, here's a handful of the ones I'd imagine to be in it, plus probably a few more:
Moonlight Sonata Movement 3 by Beethoven (YouTube, Spotify). This part also includes a pit feature because it'd be awesome. Imagine Dogma just absolutely shredding it on the xylo on those runs
Dies Irae (YouTube, Spotify) (as performed by Carolina Crown on YouTube)
Winter from the Four Seasons by Vivaldi (YouTube, Spotify, as performed by Santa Clara Vanguard on YouTube)
Obviously parts of Plagueis' soundtrack throughout the show, though moreso in their sustained notes than by itself for an extended time (YouTube, arranged on Spotify since for some reason it's not on the official ROTS album)
Parts of Night on Bald Mountain by Modest Mussorgsky (YouTube, Spotify, as performed by the ASU Sun Devil Marching Band on YouTube)
Closer is Sidious' Theme, based on the arrangement by Samuel Kim (YouTube, Spotify)
Stewjon Ghosts — Variations on the Opera of Tarre Vizsla
As I've stated before, theirs is based on Phantom Regiment's Spartacus show (seriously, go watch it). Their show is based on the ballet by Aram Khachaturian, so for this universe, something similar happened with Tarre Vizsla. The storylines are a bit different (obviously) and idk how there not being Jedi would impact it, but don't worry about it too much
Since this fictional opera does not exist, however, you can imagine it to be similar to the Spartacus arrangement, just more Mando in the storyline
Specific Spartacus piece I'd like to stay the same across the shows because it sounds cool: YouTube, Spotify
Their closer is an arrangement of the Dha Werda Verda/Vode An arrangement done by Samuel Kim (YouTube, Spotify). Idk how much of the chanting is included (at least a bit), but Wooley (pit member) plays the bes'bev during it and it's SO COOL and the crowd always goes nuts for it
Sidenote but their show title is really long so it gets shortened to "Tarre Vizsla" or just "Vizsla" most of the time
Felucia Stars — Quasar
Keeping with the theme of their corps name, this is a space-inspired show! Some of the songs mixed into their music are as follows:
Also Sprach Zarathustra by Strauss because it's not a space show without a reference to 2001: Space Odyssey (YouTube, Spotify, as played by the Ohio State Marching Band on YouTube)
Jupiter from The Planets by Holst (YouTube, Spotify) (marching arrangement, except they wouldn't have woodwinds: YouTube)
Starman by David Bowie (YouTube, Spotify) (marching arrangement, except they'd have a harder version: YouTube)
Ultraviolet by James Heather (YouTube, Spotify)
Firebird Suite by Stravinsky (YouTube, Spotify, marching arrangement on YouTube)
It is VERY important for all you to know that the Stars are always known for making a star-shaped set (or multiple stars, depending on the year) a la Carolina Crown and the Crown set. It's just extra-applicable this year ☆
Coruscant Guard — Triplet Zero
DCI loves a good pun show name (looking at you, Phantom Regiment "Phantom Voices" show from 1991 and Madison Scouts "MadiSpin" show from this year) and so does the GDC. Thus this one haha. All of the pieces they feature include triplets for obvious reasons or are in 3/8, 6/8, or 12/8 because I feel like a triple meter also counts for the pun and thinking of songs that have lots of triplets that aren't in triple meter is really hard to do without sheet music. Also I think Sly Moore would make it super hard on her band by having them switch back and forth between duple and triple meter the entire show. Songs are:
Mars from The Planets by Holst (YouTube, Spotify, as performed by the Santa Clara Vanguard on YouTube)
Obviously the Star Wars theme is classic for the triplet rhythm soooooo let's just say it belongs to a popular sci-fi movie franchise that is NOT just like their lives lollll (YouTube, Spotify, as performed by the Mighty Sound of Maryland (University of Maryland) on YouTube)
The Sorcerer's Apprentice by Dukas (YouTube, Spotify, as performed by the Ohio State Marching Band on YouTube) (also a part of The Academy's Drum Corpse Bride show but I couldn't find a link of it separated from the rest of the show)
Hold the Line by TOTO (YouTube, Spotify, marching arrangement on YouTube)
King of the Clouds by P!ATD (YouTube, Spotify)
Everybody Wants to Rule the World by Tears For Fears (YouTube, Spotify, as performed by Southern University on YouTube)
Kel Dor Wolfpack — Search for Destiny
This is a case of dramatic show name that doesn't really tell you what the theme is but still fits. (Which happens a lot with DCI show names haha.) Definitely has voiceovers connected to the theme. If anyone can pull it off without looking tacky, it'd be the Wolfpack. Their songs are as follows:
Brass Machine as played by the Vienna Brass Connection (YouTube, Spotify)
MacArthur-Park which has many different popular covers, so here are the links to a few: Donna Summer version: YouTube, Spotify; Maynard Ferguson: YouTube, Spotify; Vienna Brass Connection: YouTube, Spotify
Thank You For The Music by ABBA (YouTube, Spotify)
Victory by Two Steps From Hell (YouTube, Spotify)
The Theory of Everything by Jóhann Jóhannsson (YouTube, Spotify)
and a soundtrack piece that meshes them a bit better that I have not been able to pin down yet but I wanted to share this with all of you, so
Elite of Mirial — Time Feel
This is more of a jazz based show for sure, with an overarching music theme of time (even if not all the songs fit it). Also loosely pun-related show name based on the jazz term. It looks a little like this:
Out of Time by No BS! Brass (YouTube, Spotify)
Overtime by Youngblood Brass Band (YouTube, Spotify)
Ain't Nothing Wrong With That by Robert Randolph & The Family Band (YouTube, Spotify, as performed by the Pride of Mississippi Marching Band (U of Southern Miss) on YouTube)
Cantina Band (YouTube, Spotify, as perfomed by Carolina Crown on YouTube)
As Time Goes By by Billie Holiday (YouTube, Spotify, as performed by the Ohio State University Band on YouTube)
I highly suggest listening to Overtime and Cantina Band back to back. They're what kickstarted my idea for this show haha. And maybe Cantina Band has a slightly more time-related name in this AU, who knows
Raxus Sepia Tailcoats — Confined in Spirit
Yes, this is the Separatists in marching au form hahaha. Sepia Tailcoats -> Seppies (as they have thus only been referred to so far). And, yes, the show name is a play on the acronym. Songs are:
Dooku's Theme (YouTube collection of all instances in the movies, Spotify from Tales of the Jedi)
Droid Army Theme epic version arranged by Samuel Kim (YouTube, Spotify)
Grevious' Theme (YouTube, Spotify)
and probably whatever else fits that lollllll
And obviously there's other drum corps but we're not following them so it doesn't matter
Anyway! Hope you enjoyed listening through all of this and you see the vision I'm trying to project. If you want this all on a single Playlist on Spotify, click here
