final summary
I am a dog. I am hardly capable, easily stressed, and unhappy with what I am expected to do in every current moment and in the future. It is not possible to believe that I am meant to fill the roles any person must fill, from the hard stuff to the mundane. I can do it now, I must, but there is no way I was intended to. I have felt this way for as long as I can remember.
Everything else is a reaction to that. The ways I seek comfort from others & how I comfort myself, the main ways "being a dog" affects me, are reactions to being hardly capable. I realized one day I could be impressed with myself for ever managing to do anything instead of constantly down on myself. Even though though it's unintuitive and scary, to think little of myself is greatly beneficial if done right. I'm not wasting time beating myself up for not being able to do what others can. I am a dog. I know I can't operate like normal people can. The goal is to continue existing as best as I can despite being worse at everything.
I have made everything harder for myself because of my constant drive to "fix" everything. I wrongly framed the comfort I seek out as the identity itself, and that's why it's been so hard for me to define it. I've been seeking a solution (not an erasure of this identity, only a way to live with it) since the beginning of calling myself a dog, and that's wrong because there's not a definite solution. That's not how anything has ever worked.
I get happy when I call myself a dog. By framing the non-existent "solution" to this as a part of the identity, I have never felt satisfied in an understanding of myself. Y'know, because there's not a solution or one definite relief.
I took my dissatisfaction over my identity at face value, then tried fixing it by mulling over core facets and details I thought I was missing. If my current overcomplication doesn't work, I thought, then I simply need even more information on myself.
I did this until everything became so cloudy that thinking about this identity became impossible. I knew far less about myself in August 2024 than I did February 2024.
For the most part, I was aware I was fucking things up, but that didn't really help me at all. Since I didn't know what was causing this bad thinking, I couldn't do anything about it. Got it right eventually. The problem is I try to solve everything. Knowing that got me out of all of my self-inflicted confusion pretty fast.
There has been other facets where I've tried to find a solution until everything is worse. That's where all my label trouble, which I don't think I've talked about here too much, has come from. I knew I had to stop worrying about that nearly a year before I was able to.
That's that, really. I'm a dog because not to be one would make me incredibly unhappy. The why of it all is in the post I'm reblogging, and I'm happy I have written "the reason why" because my brain latches onto that shit so hard, but it's not actually necessary information to anyone else. Sorry for all the incoherent ramblings throughout this blog, that's kinda all I do.

THIS USER IS A FUCKED UP DOG
My words don't make any sense because it feels so embarrassing to speak genuinely about being a dog. So, I find specific phrases and sentences that feel less embarrassing to say, sacrificing legibility in the process. Goddamn, barking is much more fun then writing
