At the German Language School (GLS) in Berlin, we don’t just offer high school exchange programs abroad for German students, we also welcome students from around the world to experience a high school exchange in Germany. Through our Highschool Germany Program, participants attend local schools and live with host families in different regions across the country.

Last week, we hosted a farewell gathering on our Berlin campus, where students came together one last time to celebrate their experience and reflect on the unforgettable months they spent in Germany.

Since last year, students from Guatemala, Brazil, Italy, Switzerland, the Czech Republic, Colombia, Slovakia, Japan, Spain, Greece, the United States, and Venezuela have taken part in our Highschool Germany Program. Throughout their stay, they improved their German, formed lifelong friendships, immersed themselves in a new culture, and created memories that will stay with them for years to come.

International Languages Week at the Tauranga Girls’ College in New Zealand

Last week, TGC celebrated International Languages Week with two amazing lunchtime events that brought our school community together to share, learn, and connect.

Tuesday Lunchtime: Trivia Competition. Our ākonga put their language skills and global knowledge to the test in a fast-paced trivia battle! It was awesome to see so many sharp minds representing different cultures and cheering each other on.

Thursday Lunchtime: International Festival. The school came alive for our spectacular International Festival! The energy was unmatched with stunning cultural performances, beautiful henna designs, and incredible food stalls filled with delicious flavors from all around the world.

A massive thank you to all the ākonga and kaiako who cooked, performed, organized, and shared their heritage with us. We are so proud of the rich diversity that makes our kura so vibrant and special!

Storm King School New York State USA grades 8 - 11 outing.

What a great way to wrap up the school year! While our seniors enjoyed a day at Six Flags, students in grades 8–11 spent Class Trip Day at West Point’s Lake Frederick! The day was filled with football, laughter, and time spent enjoying the beautiful outdoors. It was a wonderful opportunity to create memories that will last long after the school year ends!

Wednesday night hockey sees the Cambridge High School (New Zealand) U18 1st XI and 2nd XI teams compete on the turfs of Waikato.

Our Sheds and Shelters 1st XI Girls started with a great win over Dio which puts them 2nd on the ladder, they are having a great start to their season. Than our Mitre10 Mega Cambridge 2nd XI Boys played Rototuna 1st XI and also played a great game winning 2-0. This puts them in the top four in their grade. The Rob May 2nd XI Girls also clocked up a hard fought win against SHGC 2nd XI.

The More-Re 1st XI Boys had a tough day on the turf as they manage team injuries and illness in the team, they played top of the table HBHS 1st XI who scored a bunch of goals with our boys not managing this week to get the back of the net.

Our two 1st XI teams are both in the top four and qualify for the finals, and both are in Intercity Division One. A huge thanks to Steph Bell Jenkins for getting the shots from GHC last night.
