Usually, when I take on a new music video project, it comes to me pretty naturally. I have to see a moment and once it’s taken shape my editing process is to try and bring you into what I see when I’m listening to a song. Usually…

Overflow was a very interesting edit for me, because for the first time the edit landed totally on accident. I was tinkering with CapCut, a very streamlined editor that a lot of people use to make very flashy (and quite frankly, soulless) edits and in my experiment I grabbed two random elements. A random episode of JJK, and a random song in my rotation. And here we are now.

I took what was a total accident, and I edited one powerful and explosive moment into a story about power, overflowing.

Disturb not the harmony of fire, ice, or lightning…

I was one of the dramatic “Last Resort AMV” kids.

My first ever AMV used the song, but sloppily cut to scenes of Goku and Vegeta fighting each other. I can’t really say that I had a vision either. Looking back at it now though, it’s a reassuring sign that what once was aimless, is now concentrated effort.

Last Resort Reloaded is fun, it’s edgy, it’s explosive. I wanted to drive each big drop and mirror the explosiveness of every transformation and huge blast.

On the narrative front, Broly and Goku both get some backstory in the movie, so making sure I captured the journey they both take leading into the last big fight was essential.

I wanted after school DBZ vibes, and I think I got it.
