Tumble once again doing the ad game like nobody else with this ai generated gardening flamethrower for burning your neighborhood down
honestly i think the reason why it’s so common for kids to have the “it’s not a phase, mom” argument in their adolescence is less because they genuinely plan for their current state of being to remain utterly unchanged forever and more because they’re tired of having their interests/self expression/beliefs/etc dismissed as foolish due to being probably temporary
i know that when i was that age i certainly wasn’t thinking about whether or not i’d be into whatever shit i was into then when i was 80, all i knew was that i was sick of feeling like the adults in my life were just rolling their eyes and waiting out everything that was important to me at that moment
Show me a permanent state of the self, MOM
Look I'm not saying gulags are good, but...
and what if I told you nine was less afraid of love than ten. what then.
for a moment i lived in a beautiful world where doctor who didn’t exist and this was simply a seven-ate-nine joke too layered for me to understand

you're cute and it's tuesday
I'm cute and it's tuesday
GEORGE: [ABRUPTLY, AFTER SILENCE] “I mean, I feel like I understand trans people.”
[JERRY STARES AT GEORGE FROM ACROSS THE TABLE IN CONFUSION AND DISBELIEF FOR SEVERAL SECONDS]
JERRY: “You understand trans people?”
GEORGE: “Is that so hard to believe?”
JERRY: “I find it hard to believe you understand yourself.”
GEORGE: “But that’s kind of my point, see. When one life isn’t working out, you can just try to find one that does. You’re doing your best as Danny, things aren’t going great… [GEORGE CLAPS HIS HANDS FOR EMPHASIS]… give it a second go as a Deborah.”
JERRY: “Like a do-over.”
GEORGE: “A do-over.”
JERRY: [PICKS UP COFFEE CUP] “I don’t think that’s what’s going on.” [DRINKS COFFEE]
GEORGE: [COMPLETELY IGNORING THIS] “And I get that. I really do. Because things have never worked out for George. George has never been able to stick the landing. But Georgina? [HE CHUCKLES CONFIDENTLY] Georgina’s going places.”
JERRY: “Georgina.”
GEORGE: “It’s a work in progress.”
JERRY: “Ya know, I think that the trans community is facing enough challenges without you being in the mix.”
GEORGE: “What, are you implying they’re too good for me?”
JERRY: “Not implying, no.”
"Can you dual wield unarmed strikes if you are playing as a character with two hands" is a question you'd THINK that D&Dlike games should have an easy time answering in a way that makes intuitive sense. And yet.
Large parts of this seem to be a reluctance to clarify the action economy of "take your hand off the hilt of a two-handed weapon and use the free hand to do something" which seems like it should be pretty easy to solidify in a way that's not a complete violation of common sense
These problems become less pressing with a less sequentialist understanding of action order in D&D 5e, which admittedly doesn't make them any more intuitive or realistic. But if you model that Action and Bonus action aren't necessarily meant to be happening sequentially the idea that you need both hands to attack with a two handed weapon and that means you don't have a free hand for your bonus action that requires it makes more sense.
It's not like, each of your action, bonus action, and movement take two seconds that you get to order how you want, it's that doing these three things approximately simultaneously takes six seconds, your action is the main thing you are focusing on accomplishing for those six seconds, and your bonus action is something you can do basically at the same time, and you can do both of those things while moving.
So if your main focus is attacking with a two handed weapon, you don't necessarily have the time or attention to take your hand off the weapon and do something else with it even if you could do that with only one hand occupied. One use of the Attack action doesn't strictly correspond with one swing of the weapon, it is spending six seconds trying to attack someone.
Admittedly, the turn-order structure of combat kind of clashes with this, and the fiction narrated by every character taking their full turn in order doesn't really line up with this understanding, especially with "non-action actions" like talking happening on or between turns.
A thing I find helpful is to remember that bonus actions are not promised, they are earned and if you don't fulfill the requirements for taking a bonus action you can't take it, because it's a bonus not a promise.
Only monks can make bonus action unarmed strikes because they're the only ones sufficiently skilled with their fists for that to make sense, anyone else is just spending their turn punching, while anyone with a light weapon can get an off hand jab in.
"off hand unarmed strikes" from people wielding weapons are better modeled by things like Battle Master Maneuvers than by using the off hand weapon rules to model punching someone while swordfighting.
Extremely unhelpfully, I like to run combat in 5/5.5 without turn order, taking every player's "order" of what they want to do with their turn and resolving it all simultaneously, and resolving conflicts that emerge over action order with one-off initiative tests between the characters affected (did I get out of range before his shot went off? Whose attack connected first? Can I run away before he reaches and hits me? Things of this nature). This makes it feel less like Move-Action-Bonus action are happening in sequence where it doesn't make sense that I can't do something with my off hand now that I've "finished" attacking with my greataxe.
"Can you dual wield unarmed strikes if you are playing as a character with two hands" is a question you'd THINK that D&Dlike games should have an easy time answering in a way that makes intuitive sense. And yet.
If i have one (1) sword can i dual wield Sword in one hand and Unarmed Strike in the other?
in 5.5e the answer seems to be "if you've taken the Dual Wielder feat, you can dual wield your empty hand and a sword but only if the sword isn't too heavy"
My interpretation was always "unarmed strikes require your action to perform unless you are a Monk" and was an exception to he off-hand attack rules because nobody except monks are skilled enough boxers for on-off hand/bonus action attacks to do anything mechanically significant. When you take an unarmed strike you aren't, mechanically, throwing one punch with your dominant hand, you are spending six seconds trying to punch someone with both hands and deal them 1+STR damage.
when applied to drinks, "dry" means "without sugar". therefore it follows that sugary drinks can be called "wet". the meanings of the terms "hot" and "cold" when applied to drinks are obvious. thus the aspect of any drink can be determined.
for instance, green tea, freshly steeped and served without additives, is hot and dry, and therefore has an aspect of fire.
a mocha, on the other hand, while hot, is sweet, and therefore wet, and thus has an an aspect of air.
lemonade, which is wet and cold, has a water aspect.
finally, the drink which most epitomizes the earth aspect, being both cold and dry, is vodka
We have once again returned to the four humors
I feel like the beverage water is a fairly water aspect drink
No unfortunately water is dry
