🥚🤰Human Easter Eggs 🤰🥚
These are tiny eggs (oocytes) growing inside little follicles within a woman’s ovary.
Happy Easter to all that celebrate.

From top left to center in a clockwise spiral, each image is one stage closer to ovulation and potentially fertilization!

2. An early unilaminar primary follicle with cuboidal epithelium containing a primary oocyte
3. A late unilaminar primary follicle with columnar epithelium containing a primary oocyte
4. An early multilaminar primary follicle containing a primary oocyte
5. A late multilaminar primary follicle containing a primary oocyte
6. A secondary follicle containing multiple antra and a primary oocyte
7. An early Graafian follicle/late secondary follicle containing multiple large antra and a primary oocyte
8 and 9. Pre-ovulatory Graafian follicles each containing a secondary oocyte (metaphase II of meiosis)

Im trying to learn my anatomy and drawing what Im studying tends to help me remember things better, so I made this! I made this for personal reference but figured it might be helpful to some of you trying to learn hands too? It helped me a lot so I just figured, eh. I tried to keep it short and simple without going into too much detail, so pardon if there’s some stuff I omitted. Feel free to use it if you like! Im planning on making a Part 2 soon, which will have the hand structure, surface form, proportions, finger tapering, foreshortening, etc. Also please excuse my writing, I did my best to make it neat! >_<
Edit: fixed the insertion point of the adductor pollicis. Everything should be okay now!
Time really does fly.

For anyone feeling like they are struggling while everyone else is being a rockstar….
my fave greek history story to tell is that of agnodice. like she noticed that women were dying a lot during childbirth so she went to egypt to study medicine in alexandria and was really fucking good but b/c it was illegal for women to be doctors in athens she had to pretend to be a man. and then the other doctors noticed that she was 10x better than them and accused her of seducing and sleeping with the women patients. like they brought her to court for this. and she just looked at them and these charges and stripped in front of everyone like “yeah. im not fucking your wives” and then they got so mad that a woman was better at their jobs then them that they tried to execute her but all her patients came to court and were like “are you fucking serious? she is the reason you have living children and a wife.” so they were shamed into changing the law and that is how women were given the right to practice medicine in athens
Yeah, this isn’t some Greek myth story about a hero or demigod or something, Agnodice was a real person who actually did this.

Another amazing woman from history.
To laugh often and much; to win the respect of intelligent people and the affection of children; to earn the appreciation of honest critics and endure the betrayal of false friends; to appreciate beauty; to find the best in others; to leave the world a bit better, whether by a healthy child, a garden patch or a redeemed social condition; to know that even one life has breathed easier because you have lived. This is to have succeeded.

It’s good to be a little scared. I think it’s just a sign that you are challenging yourself.

Here are a few of my favourite techniques (not necessarily the best, just my favs!):
Flashcards:Â
Flashcards are such a great way to study factual information. They’re not the best for learning the connections between facts or theories, but for learning the theories themselves this works really well.Â
You can buy blank or lined cards of different sizes or you can just make your own by cutting paper / card. You could also use online sites or apps like quizlet to make digital cards.
Here’s my flashcard tag (for inspiration)

Pretend to teach:
This really tests your knowledge. Pretend that you’re teaching the topic to a class (or actually teach it to a friend). I have a whiteboard that I use as though teaching to a class, and I’ve found that it’s a great way to identify gaps in your knowledge that need to be built on.
Mindmaps:
Flashcards aren’t very good at helping identify connections between topics, but mindmaps are great at this! You can make them as colourful and complicated as you like, or you can keep them clean and simple.

Youtube / Ted Talks:
There are so many videos available online now that cover so many topics, that it’s very likely what you’re studying has been covered to some degree. I’m not saying that these videos will cover everything or should form the basis of your revision, but they can definitely add to it.
I'm sharing some of my current beauty faves on my blog today!
