Taking a break from the gray alpaca project for this βbe brave and use itβ spin. This is a one-of-a-kind batt from Solunaceae! The pictures do not do it justice on the bobbin. π€π¦β¨π«§ The synthetic decorative spiderweb fiber is a bit tough to work with because the staple length is literally 12 inches, and itβs nearly impossible to draft, but it does add a nice bit of semitranslucent shine. πΈοΈ I would like to use this spin in an Undertale/Deltarune themed project because I got tickets to the symphony this Fall!!!!!!!!!! RAHHHH!!
Best thing about watching my grandparents cat is that while I'm there I can rifle through the great Quilt Stash and bring out beautiful works of art to sleep under.
I've been sitting on the finished top for this quilt for a couple weeks trying to decide how to quilt it. Finally decided but I've also gotten better at my fpp designs in those couple of weeks. There are so many changes I'd make now but I still really like this one as it is.
I FINISHED IT! I KNIT A SWEATER FOR THE FIRST TIME EVER! YAY! so thrilled with the result and excited to knit more sweaters in the future. this was an incredibly satisfying project to work on. took a little over two months, would have taken less time if i hadn't freaked myself out and not worked on it for nearly three weeks because i was scared of picking up the stitches for the sleeves wrong. we live and learn.
pattern: clay sweater by ozetta. yarn: juniper moon patagonia, colorway juniper.
Oh yesβ¦. Processing my first full raw fleeces!!! My sisterβs coworker inherited some sheep from his homeβs previous owner. He has absolutely no idea what breed they are. Usually, their fleeces are just composted or thrown away. These three have been in the trunk of my car for at least two years, because I never felt ready to tackle them until now. Skirting wasnβt that bad!!! Not really an unmanageable amount of VM or poo. Beautiful crimp! π One seems a little different from the other two, which makes me wonder if he has two different breeds. It seems more coarse with less consistent crimp compared to the other two (bottom right pic above).
Btwβ¦ Do you think this is yolk, or canary stain, or a normal color for raw wool?? π₯
Bonus: this is the only picture he has ever shared with my sister. Newborn lamb! I welcome and would really appreciate any breed guesses. π And yes, Iβve already laid claim to the first shear off this baby!

It's waterproof. It's windproof. It's lightweight and durable. And it's made from the intestines of two bears, painstakingly cleaned and sew
I really wanted to know more about this, especially how the water proof stitching works. Here's more information on this project, and hopefully more in the future!
This is amazing! I need to make a note to play around with that water proof stitch technology soon.
June Pardue has a video on YouTube demonstrating the waterproof stitch!
Knit cardigan. No pattern. Just vibes. It fits ok, the belt makes it look much more fancy.

I've finished stitching 8 in this series now - so edging underway as a small break from what feels like one million smyrna stitches. Then back to stitching the last four.
