we both agree that csa victims arent destined to become then perpetrators of incestual abuse, i.e. that just b/c bro abused dave doesn’t automatically mean it’s okay that dave for a while views rose (and later roxy?) in this light and i dont think dave would ever act on his intrusive thoughts and feelings b/c he’s a good person and not an abuser. i dont think he has the capacity to genuinely hurt others and im very proud of him for that, he’s a good male character who’s allowed to be flawed and traumatized w/o then being viewed as immoral/evil

and like taking dave’s abuse and fetishizing it to support your ships (dave/rose, dave/bro, dave/roxy etc) is really fucked up because like real victims have to go through this abuse and they’re left with feelings and thoughts they don’t want and yet can’t control. they can crave more incestual abuse and assault & like making that okay and telling people that’s fine and healthy and they should act on these thoughts is super fucked up and harmful!!! people could really actually get hurt and they probably have. 

1) pretty much all of us are survivors and have complicated relationships with sex, including hypersexuality, and have experienced the desire to seek out media that reminds us of our trauma in a harmful attempt to cope.

2) the implication that whatever the fuck “anti-antis” are called care about ALL survivors is a complete load of shit, especially considering a pretty significant amount of them arent even survivors but are just ppl who think pedophilia/incest/rape/etc are hot. they dont care about any survivors. survivors only matter to them when they can be used as a shield or a tool to excuse their behavior. they dont give a shit about you. you dont matter at all to them if they cant use you. 

3) like it or not using media like that to cope with abuse is extremely unhealthy, not to mention really dangerous when spread publicly for about a million reasons. at least “antis’ try to help people realize that and develop healthier coping mechanisms rather than acting like it should be encouraged to use that self harming way of processing trauma.

4) no matter what, when it’s spread publicly, that media creates an environment where abuse is normalized and romanticized, gives abusers grooming tools, and very directly results in more people being abused. theres no way to work around that. it’s just how it is. you cant pretend youre helping abuse victims by supporting this kind of environment. 

if you support content with rape kink (“dubcon”), romanticized and sexualized minor/adult relationships, incestual relationships, actually harmful kinks (vgl/ddlg/daddy kink in general) etc. youre normalizing those things and validating real-life abusers and making impressionable/already traumatized people (especially minors) more vulnerable to predators, no matter what your intent might be.

it’s already been proved that making rape jokes makes rapists feel validated and like theyre in on the joke, and yall try to tell me, with a straight face, that literally creating and consuming content that paints certain types of abuse as sexually arousing and/or romantic has no bearing on the minors who grow up in spaces where creation of that kind of content is normalized or on “reality”; as if people arent highly moved and affected by media (jaws, anyone ?), as if content creators cant be pedophiles, sexual abusers, rapists, and as if it hasnt already been proven that pedophiles, sexual abusers and rapists use that content to feel better about the violence they commit towards others

(not to mention how its a fact that certain types of content is literally used by abusers to gaslight/groom/manipulate their victims into believing the abuse is normal or acceptable and you literally cannot disconnect the fact from the content)

like yall can try to brush this criticization of the normalization of abuse and simulated child porn (which is illegal, btw) aside with calling me an “anti”, but the fact is: youre contributing to the problem. youre contributing to rape culture. if youre very involved in “fandom”, you have no doubt consumed ~kinky porn~ that has been used to hurt and abuse people.
