Look I love byler, a lot, I see myself in will (and max but that's not important) to a weird extent, and I want them to be canon as much as anyone. But that's not what this show does. They can't properly talk about the racism or sexism of the 1980s. They don't know how to handle poverty. And they certainly can't do homophobia. It's not going to happen. The duffer Brothers are vaguely liberal and want to keep there mass appeal for the purposes of merchandise and "stranger things interactive experiences" wanna know what isn't massively appealing? Homosexuality. This is very much disney levels of marketing, they toe the line with Robin because she's older and was introduced as a teenager, we've seen will since he was a kid. They can not have his arc be and then he kisses his dream guy. No way no how. It's impossible. and the worst part is it would be so easy to do. So easy to write and make work. But mike and eleven sell and will continue to sell. The duffer Brothers approach to sexism was to make Jonathon a bad guy for wanting job security and to be able to feed his family. They will have will tell Mike maybe have him and Robin tell more people, and Robin might get a girlfriend. Unless they age him up via epilogue or it's just like a one liner will will not get a boyfriend. And the worst part of this post is I sincerely hope I'm wrong
