Currently, Maram and her husband need dental work done urgently. Her husband has been in a lot of pain, but they will need funds before they can proceed with treatment. Any help and visibility is so so appreciated!

I have another update from Maram. Several days ago, Maram and her family were forced to evacuate their tent due to bombing by the IOF in their area. Unfortunately, their tent and all of their belongings have been completely destroyed, leaving them with nothing.

Maram and her family are currently staying in her Grandmother’s tent along with several other families, but it is too overcrowded and they will have no choice but to leave in a matter of days. They will need $2,000 USD for a new tent, but unfortunately, Maram has only been able to collect around $300 in the past two days.

Totally agree that there is a large group of people just being weak willed and doing whats popular (especially cuz country music used to get a lot of hate) but i think its a complicated topic. Like everrrrrry single big musical artist has done a trend chasing country album in the 2020s atp, and if they arent doing country then theyre using the aesthetics for no other reason. Im listening to this rn, it is alt pop (stream his song cigarettes on patios) but the visuals and title are like, misleadingly country

Some other examples: post malone (lol), beyonce, umm diplo apparently, lana del rey im counting you, and a few others were a little early like kylie minogue and gaga. So i do think its a little more than just the desire to visually align with conservatism while its popular.

My theory is that nothing feels real anymore and the return to country is like a desperate consumerist grasp at something real, like the desire for family time, any free time in general, and nature. Which is sad for a lot of reasons especially because people think they want country, but its like theyre being redirected to country when what they really want is folk
