The fatphobia rampant in our society rn is so fucking dire. We went from fairly successful body positivity to people suicide baiting fat people in just a few years. Mind boggling

And like yeah even during the body positivity movement there were still people treating fat people lik shit but we at least made it a weird thing to do socially for the most part. Now I’m getting video after video of people telling fat people they HAVE to lose weight to be respected and every single comment section of a video of a fat person just existing is just entirely filled with people calling them disgusting and shameful. And people are out there defending the glorification of eating disorders. We have truly have lost the plot so hard it’s not even funny.

my mum has severe knee problems and needs a replacement. Today she was told she's too fat to be operated on and the knee specialist suggested she gets a gastric band - which also involves surgery. So my mum was like first of all you didn't read my file because it explains that I'm not fat because I eat too much second of all you said it's impossible for me to get surgery and then suggested I get a surgery about it? He then asked her her weight and height, didn't believe her answer, and made her prove it to him because she "looks fatter than that". So she was like so you also just entirely based this on looks instead of actual numbers?
