A young woman enters Madame Eva's tent, seeking answers.

Ah, Miss Kolyana… I have long expected to see you across from me, eagerly anticipated the turn of your card, the revelation of your fate. The Mists do not disappoint! Today, you appear to me as the Two of Swords. Does that beautiful, blindfolded figure not look just like you in bridal white? She wields two swords… something you may want to do going forward. You are at a crossroads. You may stay in place, in your stagnating Barovia Village, and live the rest of your days in fear of the Devil, or you may take a step in the direction of your destiny. The next time strangers… adventurers… arrive in your sleepy village, esteem their character. If you find anything worthy in them, go with them to the farthest reaches of Vallaki or even Krezk to find your safety. It will not be an easy journey, but it will be one you can undertake if only you remove your blindfold and take up your sword.

When going through applications, we did not judge applicants based on the applicant's art style, rather, we based applicants on subjects such as composition, anatomy, rendering, and backgrounds. Our current contributor lineup has artists with a variety of different stylistic choices!

When it comes to personal feedback; we will not be able to send feedback to each individual, however, in general we definitely suggest sharing your portfolio with friends or other artistic communities for any suggestions! Zinetown has a portfolio feedback channel if that is your cup of tea.

Zine Update!

Hello all. This announcement will be separated into subheadings and sections.

We are finalizing the acceptance list as we speak!

Acceptance or rejection emails will go out by the 23rd. We are working hard to get that information to you as soon as possible.

We have decided to go with the 38 Card Major Arcana + Court Card final project.

Thank you all for the applications submitted, especially the influx of applications after our emergency interest check. At the end of the day, the 38 card tarot project is the best option for this zine.

Sign-Ups for the Side Zine are still available.

We will be including a link to the Side Zine sign-up sheet in the rejection emails and extending sign-up period so anyone who is not accepted can still participate in Memento Mori. Side zine signups are extended for one week. SIGN UP HERE

We will be operating on an extended creation schedule so contributors have ample time to create.

Most tarot zine projects end up being delayed or extending creation period anyways, so we are building in that cushion from the get-go so no one feels rushed. The Side Zine will continue on the original-posted schedule with the Main Zine coming later on.

As a reminder, this is a tarot zine, not a tarot deck.

There was some confusion that a tarot card deck would be issued in final merch. This is a book zine, not a tarot deck project. Just wanted to clarify expectations.
