You know those group photos Reject releases every so often with all 13 of the diaboys? Sometimes I think, “ wow, that’s very creative and aesthetically pleasing.” Other photos make me think, “what the hell was Reject thinking?”

In personal tribute of my one year anniversary of discovering this fandom and community, here’s my personal opinions of those group photos. Also Reject just teased some brand new material!

The below list will go from Worst to Best. Some are Reject’s special occasion/anniversary groupings, and some will be artwork from the otome games/cds. This is part 1 of 2.

Official 10th Anniversary

I don’t like this at all. Why is everything they’re wearing so big? Also why on earth would they wear their school uniforms with royal attire? None of this makes logical sense. It all looks very awkward and out of proportion. The only one who looks good is Carla. 👑

My Melody

Yikes. The clothing styles are all over the place. The black and white clothing with the strawberries-flowers-doilies-bright red background just doesn’t fit. I really don’t like the short sleeve shirt on Ayato. It looks odd.

Masquerade Jewel

I’m not a fan of the phantom of the opera half mask look. The costumes are too similar and kind of boring, tbh.

Undead Rose Garden

Are these supposed to be pajamas, Tutor undershirts/tunics or pirate costumes? At the very least they look comfortable. I like the outfits on Ayato, Yuma, Laito, Shu, and Subaru.

10th Anniversary special (part 2?)

I love the colors. These are traditional Japanese kimonos. They’re very beautiful. However, some have odd accessories. Like Kino in a pearl necklace, Yuma with that fur piece and parasol, and Shin with the fan. Its a little weird. Favorites include Shu, Subaru, Carla, Azusa, Laito, and Reiji.

Bloody Fes (Fest? Feast?)

What is it with these Diaboys in military garb that makes them so hot??? And they’re in some kind of concert, singing. Yes please. I also appreciate how all of them are bathed in jewel toned lights/backgrounds. *Drools*…. Sorry, where was I? Favorites are all of them for once.

Absolute

This one is fun because it’s playing off Imperial Russian styles. Every boy looks handsome and unique. What exactly is Kino holding? Some kind of cat or demon pet? Doesn’t matter, cause it’s cute! Some favorites include Ayato, Yuma, Shin, and Ruki.

Together, it looks kind of meh, but the boys individually look stunning. That's what I appreciate about this franchise. Reject will give you a group photo, but there's so much more for each of your favorite. Personal favs include Azusa, Carla, Reiji, and Yuma.
