In progress shots and the finished map illustration I made for my partner’s brother and his wife as a wedding present. The locations are either Bristol landmarks or places that are special to them. Oh and had to include some balloons obviously.

Latest She Reads Comics poster, using the original illustration but redesigned for the most recent event. 

My chapter from a recent collaborative project created with the University of Edinburgh, focusing on communicating their research into COBWEB: infrastructure for citizen science. Was a really great challenge finding ways to communicate complex scientific ideas, and try out a lot of different storytelling devices in a single chapter.  You can find out more and get a pdf of the entire book here.

We made a zine for She Reads Comics! It’s my first time designing one and I managed to sort it so nothing ended up back to front or upside down or anything! Had so much fun doing this and I hope we get a decent amount of submissions for next time so we can keep building on it.

More illustrated stuff for She Reads Comics! This time we went for a summer theme (sort of!) so I got to do some superheroes on the beach. Tried not to objectify anyone and keep the colours all fun and bright. Did this one in photoshop entirely, which was totally outside my comfort zone but it’s always good to try new things. 

A poster I made for the Publishing MSc degree show, showing the team for the digital magazine, Publishers Inc. I did a little illustration for everyone in our team and designed the layout too, based on the ‘Meet the Team’ page in the magazine.

Meant to put this up a while back but here’s a really short sappy comic about moving out with my man that I did for the fabulous Team Girl Comic’s latest anthology.

Connections.

Here’s an illustration I did for the latest edition of gorgeous indie mag, Counterpoint. Pretty excited as it’s the first time I’ve seen anything I’ve drawn “in print” and it was nice to have it sitting alongside work from very talented people. Also the first time I’ve ever prepped stuff for 2-colour riso printing, I should definitely have make the grey file for the orange ink darker so it popped more in print but it’s all part of a learning curve I guess! The image was an editorial illustration for an article on the water supply in Sao Paulo, which was a really interesting brief to get to grips with.

Life is Strange really messed me up.
