I totally get being mad at Eun Ji and Tae Hyung, I wouldn't want to be friends with them either. And they def deserve to be called out for their wrongdoings. Also, Eun Ji's personality switch didn't feel realistic.
However I still believe in treating others with kindness, no matter what, believing in everyone's ability to reflect and better themselves, to change and to not fighting fire with fire. And that forgiveness is not as much about others than it is about oneself, for closure, letting go, living on. You can always decide to forgive others, without having to keep them around as friends. You can be hurt and distance yourself but holding grudges benefits no one. I think we all, at one point in life, have been a bit like Eun Ji or Tae Hyung, god knows I lay awake every night thinking about my past mistakes. But that's the thing, nothing is black or white, no one is good or evil. It's more nuanced than that, everyone has a reason for why they behave like they do (Which of course doesn't free them of any accountability).
Seeing everyone dogpile on those (admittedly very toxic) characters just fans my social anxiety. For the past few years I have been heavily isolating myself from friends, family and anyone else because I'm too scared of making mistakes and being judged by others. The unforgivingness and lack of empathy, current cancel culture and so on just strengthen my self-destructive perfectionism.
Because of that, I really appreciate t8s for going the positive route and showing us that in the end, love and positivity, hope and forgiveness, are more important than holding petty grudges.
Also, this made me think of EEAAO; as Waymond said: "I don’t know. The only thing I do know is that we have to be kind. Please. Be kind, especially when we don’t know what's going on."
