Do you even know what’s going on in Chechnya? The gay people who are being detained, tortured, and murdered?

The government is actively encouraging families to kill their gay children, and you decide to draw a “teehee it’s like a little smack on the head!”

And I LIVE in Russia, so yes, I know what’s going on with gay people here. They walk freely on streets but yeah, they sometimes get stares, or if they too unlucky and unwary they could be beaten up by some drunk man. But it’s not like he wouldn’t be detained or penalized for this. Surely Russia is not the best place for gay people to live, because of situations like this, but not the worst either.

By the way, I’m gay and many of my friends too, and it’s not like our parents were ever encouraged to kill us. Where did you even get this info?? I never was beaten, I never was detained and I feel pretty safe to live in my country and in my town, where lots of people know my orientation and I don’t know anybody who would disrespect me for who I am.

About Chechnya.. our government trying to deny it, but yes, in USSR gay people really WERE detained. In USSR a lot of innocent people were datained, tortured and merdered. Those times weren’t good for anyone.

I mean this is all extremely recent news.

People in Chechnya right now are still being murdered. It’s not happening around you, which is a very good thing! That’s good you’re not in any danger but others are.
