sissy-creaneâ:
Sissy looked at him and let out a chuckle âStoneyâ she said as she took in another drag before deciding to finish the cigarette and letting her foot snuff out the flame and smoke. âWhatâs up doc?â
âNot much. Taking a walk, getting out of the clinic for a moment while things are slow,â he says as he takes a moment to sit in the swing next to Sissyâs.
âTonight a good night for a swing?âÂ
sissy-creaneâ:
Sissy had been coped up in her apartment for the past couple of weeks and honestly she was going god damn stir crazy and she needed to get out and do something; anything really. She found herself in the park sitting on a vacant swing, the hood of her jacket placed over her face covering it from the sun over head.
Lifting her head up she looked around the park for any visual of really anyone, finding herself alone she pulled out a cigarette from her pocket and light it letting the smoke fill her lungs before letting it slip out between her lips.
.
âYou know those things will kill you right?â
âBoth either with disease, or the wrong patrol walking by.âÂ
yarakerrinâ:
âYou should probably get going.â Yara glanced at the flower shop behind him, an amused smile spreading across her face that she failed to suppress fully, laughter creeping into her voice. âYour girlfriend and your dreaded anniversary await.â
âThey do that,â Stoney says with a nod. âThanks for the advice.âÂ
With that, Stoney disappears into the florist shop to get the flowers he needs.
yarakerrinâ:
âThen I donât know what youâre avoiding.â
âHmm. Well how about this, when I figure it out, Iâll let you know. Then, if itâs cowardice or weakness you can tell me I told you so, and Iâll owe you a coffee.âÂ

yarakerrinâ:
  âEither or both apply.â
âYouâre not afraid of the thing itself, but youâre afraid of the pain it causes you, or youâre too weak to bear it. No?â
âNo. I bare the pain regardless, it never really goes away.âÂ
yarakerrinâ:
âWhatever youâre avoiding isnât going anywhere.â Yara offered her advice all the same. âYour cowardice â weakness, whichever it is â deludes you to a false sense of security, and the longer you put it off, the worse itâs gonna get.â
âCowardice and weakness,â Stoney repeats as he mulls the words over. âIâm not sure itâs either of those.â
âCowardice would apply if I was afraid of it and, well, Iâm not. Weakness would imply that it takes a certain amount of strength which...I guess it might, but I really donât believe thereâs much strength to be found in this situation. Itâs all just kind of...pain.â
Stonewall Darius McGuireâ.
Stoney nods. âThatâs very true,â he says. âBut sometimes strangers have the best advice.â
âIs that what you want in return for your cafĂŠ recommendation?â
  âAdvice?â
"I wouldn't say I wanted anything in return for the recommendation, but I do enjoy conversation," Stoney replies.
Stonewall Darius McGuireâ.
âItâs not always that simple,â Stoney admits. âIf I told you the truth of it, youâd probably think me crazy or pathetic, or both really.â
âWell, Iâm a stranger. Itâs neither my business nor my concern.â
Stoney nods. "That's very true," he says. "But sometimes strangers have the best advice."
Stonewall Darius McGuireâ.
Stoney pauses for a moment to think about what she says, before he shakes his head some. âIâm not sure I have a direct question. Iâm kind of avoiding my own errand today. I guess I assumed you were avoiding something as well.â
âIf youâre avoiding your anniversary, maybe this one ought to be your last.â
"It's not always that simple," Stoney admits. "If I told you the truth of it, you'd probably think me crazy or pathetic, or both really."

âThanks,â Stoney answers with a nod. âDo you have something you donât want to get to today?â
âBe direct please, and tell me your actual question.â
Stoney pauses for a moment to think about what she says, before he shakes his head some. "I'm not sure I have a direct question. I'm kind of avoiding my own errand today. I guess I assumed you were avoiding something as well."
Stonewall Darius McGuireâ.
Stoney raises his brow at the question as he tucks his hands into his jacket pockets. He smiles and shakes his head.
âMaybe. Theyâre for my anniversary with my girlfriend,â he explains.
  âWell.â
  âCongratulations.â
"Thanks," Stoney answers with a nod. "Do you have something you don't want to get to today?"
Stonewall Darius McGuireâ.
âYeah, sure,â Stoney says with a nod as he stops in front of the florists shop. âIf youâll go to the end of this block, turn left and itâs about two shops down.â
Yara nodded her thanks, but lingered a moment, glancing through the window behind him briefly before her eyes landed back on his face.
  âSomebody youâre trying to impress?â
Stoney raises his brow at the question as he tucks his hands into his jacket pockets. He smiles and shakes his head.
"Maybe. They're for my anniversary with my girlfriend," he explains.
Stonewall Darius McGuireâ.
Stoney nods some and first goes by the florist. âI had to pick something up some flowers first, if you donât mind,â he says with a polite smile.
âIâd rather not. You said the cafĂŠ was close. If you have errands to run you can give me the rest of the directions and Iâll find it myself.â
"Yeah, sure," Stoney says with a nod as he stops in front of the florists shop. "If you'll go to the end of this block, turn left and it's about two shops down."
Stonewall Darius McGuireâ.
Stoney has to think for a moment, looking up at the street sign before he pivots on his foot. âAbout two blocks over, thereâs a small one called Omaâs,â he offers. âIâm going that way after my first stop, if youâd like me to show you.â
  âSure. Lead the way.â
Stoney nods some and first goes by the florist. "I had to pick something up some flowers first, if you don't mind," he says with a polite smile.

Stoney is taken off guard with the woman, taking a half second to pull himself back into reality.
âYes,â he answers. âDo you need any help?â
âJust point me in the direction of the best cafĂŠ around here.â
Stoney has to think for a moment, looking up at the street sign before he pivots on his foot. "About two blocks over, there's a small one called Oma's," he offers. "I'm going that way after my first stop, if you'd like me to show you."
STONEY MCGUIRE.
Stoney may have well been on another planet. In fact, he assumed the other man saying the word âDeadâ had just been a product of todayâs thoughts. He would have walked straight through the yellow beam had the agentâs hand not jarred his attention.
Stoneyâs eyes cut to the agent, his body tense because for a moment he isnât sure why he is being shoved. The words cause him to take a more analytical look at the florist shop, a frown deepening on his features.
âWhat happened?â He questions as his eyes move back to the agent. Stoney doesnât push farther, but he doesnât turn and leave as he was prompted to just yet either.
âIt doesnât concern you. Find a new florist.â
Stoney paused a moment as he watches the agent, before turning to leave. He pulls his phone from his pocket as he does so researching other florists in the area.
