Monkey Business

I like to doodle on the boxes being shipped out. The big boxes give me a nice 'canvas size' to play with.

Purple is one of the hardest colors in fabric to color match. It is either very blue, or very red. Theres not much in between. But we're quite happy with the color results.

I'm hoping to turn this illustration of Sun Wukong into an art print for an upcoming table event. It was a lot of fun to make. Coloring is a bit brighter than usual for printing purposes. CMYK doesn't like darker colors.

A sunny day

The ginger monkey sits upon a bed in a half lit room, blanket draped over his shoulders and that of his children. Upon his lap, the heavy leather binding of an old book rests, pages opened to one of its many passages. Upon its cover in gold script, reads the title of a journey to the west. He reads aloud, drawing the attention of the two youngsters to the story upon its pages. A tale as old as time, of a monkey, a monk, and his other companions on their journey to obtain holy scriptures. My entry for @mo-fox's contest over on Bluesky. Felt like posting it here cause its pretty. Who doesn't like some story time?
