Something I’ve grown to really hate is when proshippers begin shitting on other proshippers. And no, it’s not to the level the antis do it where antis tell us to off ourselves. But so many proshippers act all high and mighty like their superior. Brother get off your damn high horse. We’re all in this together, remember? A lotta people in the proship community often talk about their strife with antis (at least that’s what I see at least), but I never see anyone talk about being a proshipper amongst other proshippers.
I actually feel really insecure around other proshippers. My ass is multishipping, and often my work uses that as a shield. For example I love Woodscest, but I hide behind my other fav ship JeffJack. I know people won’t harass me for Jeff and EJ so I produce more of that than I do Jeff and Liu snogging. This is actually hard for me cuz I see other proshippers and I feel like I’m being measured. Like no, I swear I’m a proshipper and I always have been… I just draw non proship material. Do you really think that makes me less of a proshipper?
The thing is (and I feel like antis forget this), we’re more than just proshippers. That’s not our entire personality. So I can be that and also write a dumb fic about something non proship material. I can be the weirdo author I wanna be. I can be a hardworking college student and a gremlin online. Proshipping doesn’t define me. I hate when I see antis and fellow proshippers try to say that that defines who you are.
