thread the eye of the needle & stitch ‘em all up

not a cross stitching post, but it is textile-related :)

it's amazing what a packet of dollarstore dye can do for a stained linen shirt :) looking forward to wearing this again! last summer it got some sort of rust-coloured staining on the sleeves, and i have no idea how it got there. it has been sitting in my closet ever since.

about 8 hours throughout the day! completed a few more 10x10s

i’m fast running out of DMC 677, so i’m soon going to have to find myself some more... azzy’s got a big coat, and i have no experience guessing thread lengths for projects.

stitched for about 10 hours today... x.x headachey and maybe a touch cross-eyed.

later in the day i switched to working in 10x10 blocks instead of the weird grouping of stitching i was doing before, up on azzy’s coat. working in blocks feels so much more manageable, and easier for me to find a convenient place to stop, and it’s far easier to track on the pattern itself. before, i was working across two pages doing far more counting than is enjoyable.

i can also see the quality of my stitches improving since i started! they’re a lot more uniform, and feel the same when i run my finger over them, versus up on azzy’s coat where the bottom half feels fuller with more coverage, and the top half tighter and sitting closer to the aida

the gridding pen shows through azzy’s coat, but it will disappear when I iron it!

I spent an absurd number of hours today cutting, ironing, and gridding the aida. First time using gridding! I had just enough time at the end of the day to start a single line of stitches on Aziraphale’s coat.
